was looking to add some ciat lonbarde sauce to my er-301 patches and ended up building a 3-petal ‘tritussy’ custom unit after seeing a few people mention the quantussy. hope it’s useful for someone
includes the switches for each petal, blue fm in jacks and inputs to change the color of the LEDs in the center lozenge. such a fascinating and ingenious design once you get into it

Wow! That is a HUGE step! One of the things I was thinking about was that it would be a bit boring to put in a lot of time developing for the plattform if the one-man-company decided he was not interested anymore.

Wow - unbelievable:) I’ve been checking everyday for months and it’s passed every expectation
Teletype integration is so cool, a d a full emulation on Linux

Oh heck… not being open source is how I justified selling my 301, guess I gotta get back on the waiting list now.

Lovely to hear they went open-source.
Is this possible? Would be amazing.

I can’t see why it wouldn’t be possible, given softcut appears to be c/c++, and that’s one of the development paths allowed by the 301 v0.6 release.
I’ll dig further…

whoa
… wonder if it’s possible for someone to make a third party cv output module for it now?

paulstretch should be doable, so Many possibilities.

I want to see if it’s possible to re-use some of Mutable Instruments code (rings resonator, reverb, clouds?), and bring it to the ER301!

Forget about new hardware; TXo or Ansible are ideal candidates as “CV expanders”.
ER-301 would require some I2C leader code plus major GUI enhancements to make this happen. On the unit side, a simple “command selector” unit with trigger input on main and optional chain data inputs would suffice.
I think it is early yet to be projecting whether this is likely to happen. The door is open, though.
I might be more interested adding a I2C follower unit which samples its input and replies to the leader. This fits better with ER-301’s current role as I2C follower and doesn’t require any GUI changes. Probably some under-the-hood code is needed for formulating the responses, though.

my ansible sits right next to my 301 - having it double as an output expander would be a dream.
i think both of those modules would be great candidates!

i hope this opens the door to a better reverb for the 301 - aaltoverb would be a dream.

I was thinking this too!
I find myself pushing the 301 close to the cpu limits on a regular basis and have just been resigned to using external reverbs. Hopefully a beautiful but light weight reverb can be developed.

All of this calls in to question when the swappable, more powerful CPU might be on the roadmap.
