Yes, I’ve got one. No real complaints (I quite like it), but a few observations:

At times I wish it was shallower.

The rails sit a little below the lip of the case, this makes knobs at the very edge of a row on small modules hard to get to.

Definitely wish it had shrouded headers.

I flipped the bus board orientation so that it would sit vertically when the case is open without removing the lid/ so that the handle is on top and the -12v rail is down.

The 2x power bricks inside the case are convenient for transport, but they are heavy and the whole case can run a little warm.

The rails are mounted through the case, so while splash resistant when closed, don’t take the case swimming. Also, they’re not shock-mounted so check it while flying at your own risk. Luckily it passes for a carry-on.

Adding some mount points for a shoulder strap helps when hauling around.

Again, just observations. It’s got tons of power and the price is hard to beat for a powered case with a lid. I am overall very happy with it.

I made a duplicate of that case as a DIY case. I’ll echo @coreyr’s general sentiment. Great sturdy case that is cheap. It’s a little deep (unless you’ve got a bunch of Ladik or Doepfer or similar vertical PCB modules).

I eventually replaced the trogotronic PSU with a 4ms Row power because I wanted it to be even more mobile and running the power from a battery turned out to be difficult since it uses both of the 2 PSU’s to generate the split voltage. That said, I never had any issues with the PSU, it ran totally fine. I never noticed the heat, and it had plenty of power. It’s great if you’re not going to need to run it off a battery.

It’s likely one of, if not the, lightest 6U 84hp case that’s out there (that’s still strong, has a lid and can travel easily).

It’s great for a travel case for bringing to shows.

I’m actually going to be posting my case for sale in the coming week or 2 as I’m about make a much smaller case for ultralight travel – 48hp 6U. PM me if you want more details.

Oh, to be clear, not too hot at all, just runs warmer than a metal case that can disperse heat or a case with an external power supply. Its never been a performance issue.

Got the stand you suggested set up. Fits perfectly and I love it. I dig how nicely the 0 coast nestled in there.

Oo nice, looks like it fits perfectly :black_heart:

Put together my new 6U 48hp case this weekend. I was trying to lasercut 1/4" ply, but the laser cutter had other ideas. :fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire: So– I ended up making a mitered 1/2" Baltic Birch ply case. 4ms bus boards + a row power moved from my other case to cap it off. I could have gotten away with one bus board, but I figured, I’ve got it, might as well make it convenient to get power going.

I want to replace the hinges on the lid of my case with some removable hinges. Anybody here have experience with those and a type that you recommend?

i used these:

easy enough to install, simple to use, look pretty sharp, no complaints!

So I ordered some 60hp rails from pulp logic and sliding nuts to diy myself a cute case to build make this system with (when TSNM pcb and panels are back in stock, and my friend builds one for me :grinning:)

I was going to just build a box with a little help from Home Depot, but does anyone know of a ready-made box/briefcase/whatever that I could just install the rails in? I’m not opposed to having spare space for a 1u row, but I didn’t buy enough rails so I’m not concerned for now.

hi! does anyone know where i can find a bracket kit like this, but with 1U spacing for intellijel modules?

In Europe:

out of interest - as I’m working on an 3/4" small ply case (simply because 3/4 is what I have)… how is the base on that attached? butted on top? inset? trying to parse it from the image but it’s a bit unclear… oh, and whilst you’re at it: is the roundover just sanding, or planing, or more?

(I am learning a whole pile about woodwork quite fast atm)

The angled legs thing is so, so good!

Could you post links to the bits you used for the leg assembly? Or just the proper names for the bits. I’ve just found some suitable looking feet/legs but the threaded inserts really make it and I’ve ordered a bunch of bits like this for another project before this and despite the numbers looking right several bits didn’t fit - totally my fault, I’m cursed at diy.

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a small 60ish HP powered case that comes with a lid? I’m going to be using a small morphagene rig for a tour later this year and trying to transport it safely and patched.

Am I just better off using my MN skiff and getting a case for it instead?

Thanks!

i’ve recently been coveting the grau modular pocket case, which i think a few people around here use:

i’ve never toured with my synth, but i can imagine a sturdy case with a lid would be essential. searching ‘pelican case’ here would bring up tons of details on some more rugged cases for the road.

oh wow this is rather nice, a bit more than I was looking to spend honestly though.
I probably should have mentioned that I am fine with a 3U also.

Has anyone found some sort of pelican case situation that fits a 4MS Pod well? I could imagine that working well because they’re not super deep.

I love my Lunchbox. The 1U rows allow for lots of utility and mixing options.

Oh this is pretty nice! I’m assuming the intellijel 1U’s don’t fit this right… :frowning:

Correct. PulpLogic “style” tiles only. I’m not sure it’s a sizing issue (isn’t 1U a standardized size??)…i believe it’s a power issue, though I could be mistaken. His tiles are pretty inexpensive though, for what it’s worth

intellijel 1Us are a little bit shorter than pulplogic, so it’s not a perfect fit:

[not my photo, taken from the internet]

i believe the issue stems from the rails having/not having little lips on the outside - much hay has been made of this issue online. i’ve never actually tried mounting an intellijel 1U on pulplogic rails, but i don’t think i’d want to patch something that isn’t anchored on the bottom.
