Is there a wide version of the TPS30? An 80 would fit anyway, but I thought the 30 was a little square like 4".

The TPS30 MAX is the wide one and has the same dimensions as the 80W version at least according to the intellijel page. The one you’re referring to is the TPS30 mini.

Three quick questions to people with the Intellijel Palette case and Intellijel people lurking about (@slowwild and others):

  1. Am I getting it right that the 1U Headphone and stereo output module can’t be connected to the two 1/4″ balanced audio jacks?

  2. Are there any other (read non-Intellijel) MIDI to CV modules that can be connected to the mini plug and USB MIDI jacks?

  3. Any news of a Decksaver type cover or a gig bag for the Palette?

I can confirm the FH-2 plays really nicely with Ableton. I’ve been experimenting with CV Tools using my Apollo’s outputs, but honestly using the FH-2 is a lot simpler for my brain at the moment.

You just have to do a little bit of experimenting to find out how you want to allocate channels, and then you can save it as a default and not think about it anymore. I have mine set up as 2 clocks, one voice of V/Oct and Gate on MIDI ch 3, and one voice of V/Oct and Gate plus two channels of CC on MIDI ch 4. Definitely want to add an expander or two as my system grows!

  1. Correct on the Headphone 1U, but it can connect to the Stereo Line out 1U and Mixup to allow you to monitor those outputs. Also since the headphone out is a TRS jack you could always just use it as a another stereo line out. There’s more info in the case and respective module’s manual!

  2. There’s some examples on the Intellijel forum of someone connecting an FH-2 and a PNW on a performer case (different jacks but the header pins might be the same).

also I know the Intellijel folks are happy to help with questions regarding those jacks specs.

  1. Headphones is stand alone, but the 1U Stereo Outs Module is meant to connect to the 1/4" Balanced Jack. Pedal I/O is another choice for those jacks. We are also doing a stereo Ins Module, as @wipeyadocsoff mentioned you can connected the Mixup (for an unbalanced pair)

  2. @wipeyadocsoff beat me to it, check that thread on our forum. Also i posted the TRS pinout in an i2c thread if you wanted to use the jack for other purposes…

  1. Decksaver style lids coming real soon, and gig bags coming a little later.

I’d like to have a place to plug my headphones into with for my 7U 84HP Intellijel’s case euro system. Most of the time it’s not an issue as I run my modular into either an Elektron Analog Four or Octatrack which both have headphone outs. But sometimes I just want to focus on the rack and would love to be able to not be tied to another box.

My system is totally full and I’d really prefer not buying a dedicated module if possible (I like to leave my case fixed instead of swapping frequently). Is there a cheap tiny box or a hacky small something to build get a quick and dirty stereo headphone connection (preferably 1/8"). I don’t know much about amplifiers or impedance so even if I soldered the right connectors to get a euro signal or line level signal into a headphone jack, would it work? I’ve got a 1U Intellijel line out module as well as an Intellijel mixup.

I suppose I could drill into the case and mount a headphone jack there to maybe tap the line outs. If the line level signal couldn’t drive headphones, how complex and feasible is building a headphone amplifier circuit and mounting it to the inside of the case? Thoughts?

Edit: When I wrote this I hadn’t seen the coincidentally topic-adjacent posts right above it from @Noisetrees @wipeyadocsoff and @slowwild. Weird!

If you could squeeze in a 2hp wide module, there’s the tiny and super useful ALM HPO. If you can’t, sorry for not really helping :frowning:

Euro level is pretty hot for headphones, you would want to attenuate down quite a bit. Many small mixers have a headphone out. I guess you could modify the case and mount a 1U Headphones module on the side or back, Remove the panel, use as a guide and mount directly in. (Obviously would void the warranty if it caused any problems).

You could also snake a power cable out the side of your rack (between module faceplate and cheek of rack, and then plug in the Intellijel headphone out for use when you need. Somewhere around here I think I saw someone even make a mini case for theirs to use in this manner.

I know that @maf made a small wooden case for just the Intellijel Headphones 1u and used a ribbon cable coming out of his case to power it. He shared an image of it here or in his Instagram.

Yea! As you see above, the little tail I left out of the Pod60, which I usually use to power the 1U Headphones. The wooden case has an empty back for the power cable. Then I could save some HP and easily use headphones anywhere, say, on a plane.

Has anyone used the ADDAC213B Eurorack Bridge?

It’s one of those modules for connecting up 2 different cases, or 2 parts of the same case.

It’s a bit like the Doepfer A-180-9, but is uses ribbon cables rather than Ethernet cables, plus they are internal connections rather than external. (Though they do also make a version with an external ribbon connector.)

I did actually buy exactly those for the same reason you described. I have, however, not utilised them yet to get signals from one case to another (I’m still lacking a power supply for one of the cases so far) so I can’t comment on any potential issues involved. It should work in theory though…

But you might want to bear in mind that to be able to connect two different cases with these modules would require a little bit of custom work for finding a solution for connecting both ends from one case to another. I’m planning on incorporating a shrouded header into the side of each respective case wired to the respective module. This way I can just plug the ribbon cable into the outer side of each case and don’t have to worry about more precarious (albeit possible) solutions for connecting both modules.

These specific modules seem to be mainly for extending the inputs/outputs of ADDAC213A within the same case of for individual use in one single case. Although, that doesn’t mean one couldn’t come up with other uses as well;)

Yeah I’m planning on putting holes in the back of my cases. They’re actually a set of Doepfer wooden cases that I have been bolted together (and painted white), so it’s a semi-permanent installation anyway.

Given that I’ll need to make up my own cables, I may make the holes only big enough for the ribbon cable to get through and put the connectors on in situ.

You’re right, although they do indicate that you can use them standalone if you wish to.

Hello, my morphagene sd card broke and I need to order a new one. Does anyone know which I should order? I know it says 8gb FAT32 but am still unclear on which will work. I’d love a link from someone who knows more about this than I do please :slight_smile: thanks to anyone who can help

Fat32 is a requirement.

8 gb is the maximum size that Morphagene can read, so while that is a small card by current standards, anything larger is a complete waste.

I found some from Kingston (a reputable brand) on sale at Walmart or something for really cheap.
