Pretty mind-blowing that they don’t put this kind of essential technical info on product listings. I believe the filesystem SD cards ship with is basically determined by their capacity - 4 GB to 32GB cards (SDHC) will be preformatted FAT32, larger cards (SDXC) will be exFAT. Here is a table with some of this info.

I don’t know the Morphagene’s requirements specifically but I would guess you’re good with any 8GB FAT32 card like these - it’d be nice if the manual would give the exact model number. You might be able to get that information by inspecting it on a PC but that option is of course no good of the card is physically damaged or unreadable.

FYI - You probably aren’t seeing “FAT32” because you choose the filesystem when you format the card on your computer, though cards in the 2GB to 32GB size range will usually ship already formatted as FAT32.

This one is fat

I’ve been running Morphagene through R*S Resonant Equalizer, it can make it sound super fat.

Seriously, I think I want second card for my Morphagene so I could quickly switch to using it as crazy oscillator tracking 1v/oct, hadn’t even thought about compatibility. Good info.

Is there an external device I can use to bring line/instrument level up to euro leveles? I’m getting some interesting effects in the rack and I’d like to use them with external sounds, but don’t really want to dedicate rack space to them.

I have had success just using a clean boost. I actually use the SSBS Mini, which can also clean boost.

To answer my own question:

Cš-l replaced Loquelic. I’m enjoying the idea of having two COs in here (counting Rubicon/Dixie/Ultrafold), but tuning will certainly be challenging.

mutable ears or veils works for this.

That’s one of my favorite pedals! Unfortunately it lives on the guitar pedalboard. I’m sure I have something around that would work!

Hi this is my first post.
I need an help.
I start an eurorack 104hp system and put some used modules. This is the little list :
Plaits
Orgone Accumulator
Marbles
321 frap tools
Function
Peaks
Optomix

I need your advice about drones production and the perfect reference for understanding my taste are :

So I have 24hp of space
some ideas :
cold mac (I can pickup for €150 from a friend)
doepfer 135-2
333 frap tools

Can you give some advice ?
Many Thanks

Why isn’t there (or is there?) a eurorack module like the Boss Harmonist pedal? Seems like this would be a great way to simply get another tone that you don’t have to painstakingly tune.

I just got a plonk, cold mac, and zadar and i want to make them become friends with a pair of nano rings on the go. Can’t really decide how i want to quantize. Is o_C a better option for quantizing? I don’t mind menu diving but also i think a dedicated module is just cool. What i really want is to cut this in half i feel like it’s crowded.

with uO_C quantermain mode you have 4 independent quantizers at the same HP of the one you have now.

uO_c gives you so many different quantizing options/apps. I’d definitely consider it.

Your question is a little unclear as to what your actual problem is. You already have gear to make drones, but I assume you are wondering what to get next in order to fully realize your Coil-like fantasies?

In general the answer is: play your system enough so you know it back-to-front, then ask yourself “what exactly do I want to be able to do that I cannot yet do, due to lack of gear functionality?”

The only thing I can see missing is a decent reverb and delay. For the space-conscious, Pico DSP is good.

I would not recommend Cold Mac unless you know exactly what you’re doing with it and why. Like most Mannequins stuff, it’s deliberately obfuscatory and confusing, despite being extremely powerful.

I specifically swapped a uO_C in for my Quantimator, which, despite not technically having menus had me frequently checking the manual for what the readout meant. I’m not a menu person—uO_C is the only screen in my rack, Distings are not for me, etc—but I haven’t found a better quantizing solution, and the screen/clicking isn’t too onerous.

I’m pretty new to eurorack and I have a cold mac. I find it very useful. It can do some weird stuff, but also covers the basics. I never would have gotten my head around why I’d use any kind of rectification without it…

What are you using rectification for?

That rack has a very high jack per HP ratio. I wonder if adding a controller row would make it more playable.
