There are a lot of XOR modules out there. Just try looking for logic functions on Modular Grid. RYO makes a nice XOR/XNOR/NOT module, and AniModule makes a tripple XOR. Ladik has some super cheap (but still good quality) options, too.

I’m just trying to explore more creative ways to using logic gates and this was just something that came to mind while I was brainstorming today. Definitely need to look more into this Cold Mac module… like I said I’m still fairly new to the modular world so I was just wondering if any modules would be capable of more than just simple OR and AND gating. Now that I know it’s possible my dive will delve deeper into this vast ocean.

Why didn’t I even think that Maths could do it… gosh, I feel so dumb now.

If you like building logic gates from modules, try this http://nandgame.com/

Aha, I didn’t realize Maths could also XOR. Very cool.

Klavis Logica XT (or the discontinued Logica Gater) is a great choice for a logic module. It’s got some extra smart modes for gate combining that go beyond the usual Boolean logic.

I use the pulplogic XOR tile and it’s great. Try XOR at audio rate - it’s kind of like a dirty ring-mod.

Nobody has thoughts on the Five12 Vector Sequencer? I’m really liking the looks of it but would love to hear some more experiences with it.

Didn’t even think about using XOR with an audio rate  only ever thought of using it for triggers from sequencers

Give it a go! The ring mod in the Arp Odyssey is an XOR circuit so if you’ve ever used one that will give you a sense of how it sounds.

Not many videos online from what I see but from what I saw but it’ll probably be my next sequencer from watching State Azure and Gerald Fjord.

Has anyone bumped into a controller module like Pressure Points, with two to three cv outs per trigger but with proper buttons instead of touch plates? An ability to hold the last trigger would be ace too.

I’ll experiment with the tonight… Building an entire rack of relative arcana was, I’m convinced, a good move, but the mist gets thick…

What’s your experience of the character difference between opto and DPLPG? How to your use cases vary?

In terms of character I’ve preferred the latter for bass and the former for everything else, but the side-chaining capabilities are so hard to pass up…

Don’t forget the MS20 is too!

I don’t know about the trigger latching (the ā€œsequencer modeā€ on it might behave like that) but the Synthwerks PGM-4X4 looks exactly like what you’re describing.

I think the Shakmat Modular Harlequin’s Context will, but it’s not yet out so not 100% sure. There is also the Emblematic Systems Catalyst which also adds more outs, more stages, and allows you to morph between stages if you want.

Thank you @oot & @wm.wragg for your quick replies, will look into those!

Any thoughts on this current layout? Right now I have Marbles, PNW, QPAS, Plaits, Morphagene, and Mimeophon. Thinking I’m going to ditch Marbles when Teletype comes around as I think I’m going to be doing most of my random/sequencing from there and PNW. Before this I was contemplating Batumi and Zadar instead of Maths but I don’t particularly care for how hands off Zadar is in terms of manipulating the envelopes. I miss the idea of having Batumi but also think that PNW can handle most LFO functions I’d need, if only in a slightly more hands off way than I’d like. Any suggestions or does this seem pretty cohesive?

If you’re looking for more hands on I’m not sure teletype is the way to go because it’s fairly hands off unless you’re ok with doing live coding, you’re triggering scripts manually, or you’re planning to use grid with it. Feel free to ignore me if you’re already aware of all that :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m definitely okay with the hands off nature of teletype. I want certain elements of composition to be relatively set, it’s more so modulation and actual signal path elements that I want to be able to really dig in with. Also, I do plan on using a Grid with it so there’s also that.

I should specify, I won’t be selling it. I really enjoy it especially for modulation so I will be putting in either another Intellijel 7U or a Palette case depending on how greedy I’m feeling😬
