In case you’re pushed for space/funds, it’s worth noting that you can use Ansible as a clock source by using one of the channels with a regular gate. I often do this to drive the rest of my system. It’s good to be able to occasional mess up the clock pulse by making it a rhythm instead of a steady clock for example.
I will say that Kria is the most incredible and inspirational sequencer I’ve ever played around with. I’ve used it live a couple of times and always build sequences from a blank canvas (I’ve never even saved a pattern on it). The way you can get from simplicity to complexity in a few steps by phasing notes, octaves, offsets, and gates at different loop lengths/tempos, is breathtaking. So so good!
Here’s a brief example of improvising with Kria. All the sounds here are coming from Kria into two Plaits and I’m just playing parts of the sequences live by changing the offsets with alternative note mode and switching between loop lengths. It’s very easy to get lost in this as a performance interface!
