Fake MPE with Grid?

Of course, I’d have to figure out how to program it and my pitchbend amount would be limited but maybe that’s ok.

Bend amount needn’t be limited.

Press a key, trigger a note.
Press an adjacent key, trigger a bend.
Press a key adjacent to that, bend further.

Rolling your hand left or right, you could naturally bend five scale tones without any difficulty. An octave bend would require both hands.

You would have to figure out how to program it.

Interesting thread, might take this on someday.

Haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve also thought about trying to bring velocity/pressure response to a grid using the metaphor of a harpsichord: just using two or three rows for different velocities and rewriting my muscle memory.
