Thank you for moving to proper place.

Lovely setup for work!
That OB-4 looks amazing. Just a question!: that speaker is really useful for parties in a hall? it feels really stereo?
Thanks!

The OB-4 is lovely sounding, but as I was gifted it I should say I would likely not have purchased it myself due to cost. That said, its reverb is wonderful, and the looping, etc. is really fun. I have brought it on several work trips, but it’s usually at home on a shelf due to its size and the fact it looks very nice there. Great design, and nice sound quality. As for its stereo field, it will definitely play everything in stereo, I’m not sure exactly what kind of soundstage you are after in a portable speaker so tightly spaced. I haven’t noted to myself ā€œThis sounds monoā€, but I haven’t marveled at sounds flying from left to right either.

Hi all. Is there a way to integrate this with MX Samples so that we can use that as a the soundlibrary?

@ambalek, this is such an amazing script. I’m so curious - how did you generate these sprites? did you hand code them, or is there a generator?

I love it. Play it all the time as background music. Thanks for making it.

Dearest and kindest @ambalek; having reinstalled crow in my case, I’m playing with Fall and Just Friends. Being that I’m more of a teletype user (AKA, I know zero Lua), I was wondering- where in the code does Fall (or any other script) give Just Friends information about note velocity? And where could one call a JF.VTR kind of a thing to turn everything up or down? Simple curiosity!

Looking at the Fall code and the JF reference documentation, but not being at all familiar with how JF actually works, I could guess maybe before the note is played on line 268 of fall.lua?

So just make the level of play_note lower than what it currently is, 5 volts

Or if you want to use the VTR aka vtrigger, maybe sneak

crow.ii.jf.vtrigger(0, 2.5) -- 2.5V instead of default 5V

Does that help?

PS. Also something something leaf.velocity.

Ah yep, I think you’re right. Thank you!

In the past no issues using Norns shield Fall app with 2hp midi with cv1 and gate 1 out to disting ex cv and gate multi sample piano voice. could not get to work right today and looking for help trouble shooting if possible…on the shield it shows 2hp midi as my device and output channel 1 within the fall app. the cv1 light is constant on so the cv lit jack on disting is constantly lit to match. i get the gate light on 2hp to coinside with the note being played on fall and the gate light on disting does the same. i have midi within fall app turned to on however i still hear the notes being played as if it wasnt running through midi at all. i deleted the app and reinistalled it and restarted and am in the same boat as before. i have midi enabled on the disting and dont recall having to do anything else within that module before to get to work…sometimes if it didnt work i would re select the mode on the midi module to 1 again and would do the trick. thanks in advance for any guidance or tips to get working again.

I just recently got a grid so Fall + grid is gonna be my baby niece’s first take on synths, she’s 7 months old so the reactive lights and pleasant music should be fun

Question I have fall going midi out to 2hp module using disting ex piano sample. It now plays the piano but has sustained synth tones as well. I remember before it would just play the piano sound only. I am sure there is a simple explanation but can’t figure it out. Thanks in advance.

hi, I just received my Crow, can anyone guide me to make it work with Fall?
thank you!

This would be true for most, if not all, scripts that talk to crow: Connect your norns to crow. Go into the params and ā€œuse crow (1+2), yesā€ or the equivalent depending on the script. Connect output 1 to 1v/oct and output 2 to a VCA or envelope generator (I’d imagine) or whatever that script requires.

If you’re trying to use JustFriends, flip that to ā€œyesā€ instead
