Some more to add to my list:
Valhalla Delay: I’m seriously considering selling most of my other software delays at this point, because this one is so versatile and so good
DDMF MagicDeathEye: I can’t personally vouch for how closely it corresponds to the hardware, but this is the sweetest, most musical, hardest-to-screw-up compressor I have ever used. You can’t use it to add punch or to slam or pump or whatever – it’s a non-violent plugin
that just automatically makes stuff sound better.
Wavesfactory Cassette: absolutely my favorite tape plugin. I might use it a little too much; it’s sort of become part of my sound.
As well as for tone and creative uses, I found I can use it to “correct” bad scratchy clipping and make it warm and gooey.
Plogue Chipcrusher: I’ve been getting to know it a bit better, and almost avoiding the presets and the “standard” sounds of bitcrushing and sample reduction in favor of the compressor, SPC delay, and sometimes some of the odd DAC models. It’s quite a nice lo-fier.
Goodhertz Lossy: I was going to check out Vulf Compressor, but honestly Lossy impressed me a lot more for my purposes. I demoed it and knew that I’d better pick it up
