Yeah I’ll try to put together some clips in the next couple days!

How is the seaboard to use? I’ve read accounts that you have to press pretty hard when using the thing…

It’s not really been a problem at all for me. You can adjust the sensitivity of pretty much any way you can physically interact with it. The only slight issue I’ve had (that’s only been noticeable with Lekko) is that it can be a bit too sensitive to retriggering.

I’ve owned a Block before and now I’m on the Rise 25. The difference in the quality of touch is huge. On the Rise, the keyboard is very velocity responsive. The Block in fact forces you to press the keys harder. You can adjust the velocity response of both using the Roli Dashboard, but the Rise feels like it has a way wider range anyway.

I’d love to see these, too! I’m long overdue with doing the MPE videos myself but since Felt is just me doing all this, there’s not enough hours per day to do all this! I’m going to do them after the violin is out, though.

Yeah, your DAW needs to support it. Here’s a list by Roli: https://support.roli.com/support/solutions/articles/36000037202-compatible-synths-daws-and-instruments I bought the Block when Slate + Ash Auras was out to use it in Ableton and was just super sad to realize that the MPE isn’t supported there. Well, there’s a walkaround with a free script but it isn’t as nice as native support. I’m currently back to Reason (changing between these two DAWs every few years, just to keep things fresh) and the MPE isn’t supported there either BUT since the rack is so flexible, you can patch yourself a walkaround there, too. But honestly, I’m not much of a keyboard player anyway so most of the time, I’m just playing the lines in one by one, using the keys as a super-expressive controller and then overdub.

I use Reason too! I’d love to hear how you use the rack creatively with your instruments. Love your instruments. Grabbed all of them and looking forward to the violin.

Is the Ableton workaround published anywhere? And does it only work for Roli or any MPE instrument?

Thanks!

Sure, it’s there: https://support.roli.com/support/discussions/topics/36000004122

I only tested it with the Roli but I think it should work with other controllers, too, it’s just midi data after all.

Hey @tslesicki first of all I’d like to express my respect and gratitude for creating such inspiring instruments. Second, any updates or change of mind regarding AUv3/iPad versions of your superb instruments? I’m sure there’d be a market and lots of users.

And AAX  please please please

The problem with developing for anything Apple-related is that they keep changing requirements for developers. Getting the plugins to work in Logic was a lot of pain and honestly, I’d much rather make music or record some new samples than troubleshoot yet another system. But I’m not saying no, it’s just that I need to get over my hate for the process first

Regarding AAX - it’s up to Avid at this point. It’s been about six months since I started trying to get in touch with them but I’m not loosing my hope.

As a designer involved in many iOS app projects I totally understand and agree. The process can be heavy at best, random at worst. Yet every time the critical mass appeal of the platform gives ample reason to offer an app for it. With the ongoing advent of iPadOS as a music and sound creation platform there’s a lot of fertile ground to cover with well-crafted plugins.

And please correct me if I’m wrong or cutting logical corners here, but targeting AUv3 will cover both Mac OS (10.15+) and iOS/iPadOS (13.0+), thus ensuring Logic compatibility too, right?

Yeah, I know. But on the other hand, it’s just me doing everything at Felt and I feel I should strive to keep a balance between doing this sampling project, my own music and family life

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that I’ve updated the whole range with redesigned interfaces and some little tweaks behind the scenes. The violin is coming out Thursday next week  And then, I’ll finally start working on my album!

You can get the updates here: https://feltinstruments.com/updates

UI looking great as always :ok_hand:t2:

thanks a lot!
new look is tight!

Thanks! I think I’d like to pre-map the sliders to midi now for easier setup with hardware controllers. The volume is currently mapped to CC11 and will stay this way, but that’s the only thing that’s fixed. Any preferences or suggestions on what would be logical to you guys?
