@kveye, Flora was added to maiden on January 10 and I just confirmed it appears for me on norns.local in the “available” tab.

@sademik, I’m not sure why it isn’t appearing for you. Perhaps you need to click the “refresh” icon next to “community”?
Also, regarding your earlier question to @jonsimon, I’m pretty sure he was mapping cf scalars and note freqs for his video with the 16n.

thanks for the awesome script, and quick responses!

one thing i haven’t figured out and may just be missing in the docs, is in the demo it appears that there is something that animates each plant. is this something that is configurable in via the norns directly, or does it require external input or editing the script?

@hypoxic, on the modify screen, change one of the letters (using encoder E3) to an r. this will randomly increase or decrease the angle with each tick of the redraw timer, animating the active plant. thanks!

in regards to the question regarding the parameters mapped to the 16n, i winded up figuring it out and got some really lovely things happening within flora!! thanks so much for your script, its really beautiful and i got lost in the documentation for a whole night!

Is there a way to implement midi start stop of the sequence? Please forgive me if this has been asked before as I’m a massive noob. I’ve noticed lots of scripts don’t have it, I assume I’m missing something.

This looks incredible, amazing work!

I also have an issue with Flora not appearing in Maiden, do you have any idea why that might be? I’ve obviously refreshed the ‘Community’ section, but it doesn’t appear.

@Comoving_Observer, I’m afraid I don’t know what the issue might be if you have already tried to refresh the ‘Community’ section in Maiden and Flora still doesn’t appear for you there.

It does appear for me in Maiden. Also, I just confirmed the script appears as expected in the norns-community.json file where community programs are all listed.

I hope you are able to get it sorted out successfully!

this is awesome!

when I try and boot flora up, norns gives me an error saying that it is “missing BandSaw”. any idea how to fix this?

Just got round to putting this on my Shield, it’s been quietly doing its own thing in the background for an hour now and I wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ to @jaseknighter for putting it out into the world - it’s really been hitting the spot on a chilly London morning!

I still understand very little of what’s going on, but I’m loving it. Getting some good ratcheting percussion. I like leaving it on in my office and stop by to tweak it every now and then.

A new version of Flora (v0.1.0-beta) is now available that includes the following updates:

  • Envelope and Bandsaw Engine output parameters from the plow and water screens may now be sent to midi, just friends, and crow.
  • The following new parameters may be used to control Flora with the 16n faderbank on multiple midi cc channels:
    – plow1:midi cc channel
    – plow2:midi cc channel
    – water: midi cc channel

I’ve posted a video that demonstrates these new capabilities:
