Friends of norns: gear, accessories, etc

Has anyone found a good stand for a norns to make it angled towards the user? I looked on Etsy and didn’t find any custom made ones. I’m not sure if there is one made for other gear that works just as well…

If you’re looking for a super cheap DIY option, I just bought an Ikea dishrack holder and sawed off the sticks that I didn’t need and shortened the rest to get the angle I wanted

I recently started experimenting with mapping MIDI CCs from my Mezzz. It has really opened up Norns for me. The MIDI implementation on Norns is great! This video shows off how easy MIDI on Norns is. It doesn’t go into more advance features like range limits, but those are super easy to play with too.

I previously worked at Sleepy Circuits and shot this video earlier in the year. I have since departed to focus on audio production and teaching, but I am still close with the team.

It’s a Moukey Mixer in disguise! @ramphands conceived this aesthetic transformation of a great little portable mixer. I gave it a try and it turned out great

Minimal mixers Equipment

Finally needed a mixer as my audio interface had no spare inputs. Picked up a slightly scuffed Monkey MAMX1 (4ch stereo mixer) for 500 yen, sanded it down to bare metal and…yep. It works perfectly - no discernable noise as far as I can tell. [IMG20231123153346] [IMG20231123153310]

I transformed my moukey was well. I initially bought it for the aesthetic but honestly it’s a solid portable mixer that sounds great.

I would like to use my Silvercrest DJ controller to control the Blippoo script. When I connect it I get the following message in Maiden:

I can only manage to map the encoders (but they only go from 1 to 127 without any steps in between). The potmeters and buttons don’t do anything

Looked on the forum and some people get this message if there is an issue with the usb cable. I have checked it with another cable and that did not seem to solve the issue. Also this cable works well with other devices.

Does it maybe have to do with this device showing up as two midi devices? Can I solve this by writing a devices scrip?

Update
Turns out this controller needs to receive a MIDI signal to work, looks like any midi signal will work.
I got it to work now. Next step I will let my Norns send a signal to it when I start a script.
