I got a white ENEBY 20 last week, to use as a bedroom speaker for music/norns, and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed. Will probably use this for small room solo shows as well. What an absolutely wonderful(and pretty) speaker. Will never replace my Carlsson Ortho-Acoustic living room setup, but as a smaller portable speaker I am in absolute awe.

I’ve got one as well. Feels really well made too.

It’s for use in my garage (so I can stream music etc.) and it looks a little too pretty amidst all the tools etc. :smile:

Has anyone tried the Sensel Morph with Norns? I see mention of it in this thread, but no reports of how well it works.

I think the reason there’s no report on how well it works might be linked to the fact there’s no clear MPE support for norns which would link you to this thread instead (and sensei morph without MPE loses at least some advantages it might have over other controllers I guess ?) :

I’ve been struggling with WiFi hotspots and working on the norns when away from home. I found one of these cheap on eBay and it works a treat, keeps the norns charged while providing a WiFi network to provide access to maiden.

with all the great softcut scripts coming out i’m daydreaming of live sampling with microphones designed for detecting bats.
so much room for repitching…

disclaimer: don’t have one of these and have no idea how much work it would take to actually integrate with norns. guessing a lot. someday

This might be kind of a stupid question, but does anyone know if it’s safe to charge a Norns using a Power Delivery-enabled MacBook charger (e.g. the 87W one that ships with the MB Pro) if combined with a USB-C to mini-B cable?

Most of my devices at this point take power via USB-C, and it would be nice to just take one brick for all my devices when travelling.

yes it’ll be fine. given the voltage is standard USB, the thing should simply offer higher capacity (current) which the norns power system itself will throttle to its needs/capabilities

Is anyone using a Norns with a MPC live? I don’t believe the MPC has a class compliant USB Audio interface… which is a bummer but the MIDI seems promising.

Also curious if anyone has integrated an ableton push with the Norns, the extra HID and screen space seems like a nice addition and IIRC ableton provided some API repos on github somewhere…

Not sure if anyone else is doing this but I’ve been using the op-z as a bridge for midi between the iPad and Norns allowing me to use apps like audiolayer with custom multi samples via Norns midi generating scripts

how is that routed? do you need a hub in there somewhere? or does the z send bluetooth to its ipad app?

Yeah the z is sending Bluetooth midi to the iPad. Which I think but am not totally sure but if you run through AUM you can send that midi Bluetooth regardless if the app accepts Bluetooth midi on its own

Just curious - has anyone attempted to connect the Roli Lightpad Block with El Nornso? I’m looking at a modest pile of $ for a controller and it’s either a Midifighter Twister or one of these. Thank youuuu!

I just jumped into the Norns train and i cant wait yo try it with so many external devices!
Id say my top list is:

Novation launch control (needs to be usb powered)
Midi fighter
Shuttle control and shuttle mate

How much power can norns provide to other usb devices?

Do i need something like this (mentioned on another post, similar to the monome switch i think):

I plan to use norns with a 256 and some usb midi controllers, so im looking into different options.

Can a powered usb hub be connected to norns?

Looking forward to getting mine in the mailbox!
