So I put my Norns on this stand and although it’s the right size, it’s kind of cheap and hideous and weighs about half an oz. Any suggestions for a little stand for Norns?

I find it tough to alternate between coding and looking totally 100% down at the desk when I’m working with my Norns, and I feel like so much of what I do with it is in a constant state of development that I’m in that mode a lot. I’d love a little tiny Make Noise steel system stand for my Norns.

has anyone played around with running guitar into norns into a guitar amp? I’ve tried running norns both into the front and into the effects loop return, but I feel like the life gets sucked out of things a bit…wondering if guitar -> DI -> norns -> reamp might fix things (don’t have access to the latter right now)

@OliBailey Are you using it in USB port 1? I found with some scripts that my midi controller would only be recognised in port 1 (whereas grid and wifi would be fine in any port)

I’ve just plugged Norns into my A4 mk1 and it’s working a treat. Just moved it to slot 1 and set the midi channel to match auto (9 by default I think?), seems like a good combo.

Hmmm…wonder what I’m doing wrong? My AKeys is not showing up on the norns system MIDI device slot assignment.

Set to overbridge mode? Won’t work unless you turn OB off. Midi in/out set to usb in port settings?

SUCCESS! On the AKeys I had MIDI port set to receive input from both MIDI+USB. When set to just USB it suddenly worked. Thanks @sensum_clunch and @spacelordmother

Curious about what poly-synths you folks use with Norns? I am kicking myself for having to sell my Digitone. I have a Volca FM I’ve yet to try but it seems like it would play nice. Anyone experiment with Buzzy? PreenFM? Any other suggestions for portable poly-synth boxes?

I am using a micromodular with it. Not strictly super capable when it comes to polyphony but for me it works quite well: old iPad mini with touch osc controlling midi stuff on the micromodular which I loop with Otis, cranes or mlr.

Audiothingies Micromonsta. 8 voice poly with a ton of features and it sounds great. Very portable. Usb compliant so you can plug it directly into Norns!

bumping to ask this just one more time before i try to figure out a solution on my own :hugs: if anyone has found something that works well, i’d love to hear about it! looking to use it to trigger looping in cranes.
