Now i can see a 2nd seq just for transposition w probability! That would make highly evolving and more complex patterns. Oh man I need to get my Lua chops up to speed.

Yes - transpose works well with a cc controller.

I meant a new seq lane(s), but that’s good to know too!

Thanks for your suggestions and ideas - I’ll take a look at them all. First, I’ve seen a couple of crashes like the one mentioned, where a couple of tracks simply stops playing. I’m going to squash that one bug first
I think most of the suggestions should be possible to add - but regarding adding different note-lengths (and maybe a longer and/or 2-page sequence), I think that might be a big change. I could easily add options for, for instance, random velocity and random length to midi-notes, though, if that would be useful?

I think those additions would be useful! The addition of a transpose seq would likely negate the need of a longer pattern, but I’m sad to hear about the note length. I haven’t peeked at the code but I’m guessing it’s something to do with the back and forth trigs that make it difficult? Sadly, that’s my #1 missing feature.

With regards to the bug - I also can’t figure out what makes it happen. It doesn’t happen often, but maybe 30% of the time.

Regardless, when you update I’ll pounce on it and report back!

Here’s some of the script in action. I love it so much!
EDIT: For the life of me I can’t figure out how to embed IG posts like everyone else. :S

beautiful work. thank you. happy to have MIDI out. here, controlling my Juno 60. Not really a great sequence, but I was super excited just to get it running

Wow! I just have to say this sequencer is one of the best I’ve tried. So fun and inspiring! I haven’t even tried all the options yet but its already so good. Cant wait for JF is added! Thank you for creating it :hugs:

Here’s Fugarc playing the op-1 with a piano sample. All being processed by my modular. I love this sequencer!!!

p.s Any progress on JF?

Nice! I have no JF myself - so would you be interested in betatesting?

Midi out not working for me. (Sevilla soft midi out) Norns>Fates

Right. I haven’t tested with Fates - only midi over USB directly from Norns. Does midi out work in other scripts for you? (You’ve checked your midi-settings in the parameters, right? - I don’t think the script outputs MIDI by default, but I’ll check that)

Yes, difference is that other scripts allow you to select midi device number. Thank you

Totally down to beta test. Could also give it a shot at adding it myself if you point me in the right direction.

New release: 1.0.2

  • Added CV/Trigger support for TXo through crow over I2c
  • Added experimental MIDI randomness. (More to come)

(…still warming up to try JF support and midi selection)

thanks for the contribution, great app
I am using the sequencer with ornament & crime hemisphere with CAPTAINmidi. I use the same midi out for both the gate / trigger and the notes vs my external synths.
I just wanted to figure out if I’m doing the right thing

 thanks

I think that should work, yes

Great to hear you are still going to add JF support. I guess you could make it in depth buy adding lots of functions now with JFv.4.0 but I’d be stoked with just an option for:

ii.jf.play_note( pitch, level ) and ii.jf.play_voice( channel, pitch, level )

Its an easy drop in. When your ready I’m still happy to beta test

sounds cool… I might try to wing a quick update of the code and send to you. How many channels does the jf have? 4, 6? - are they numbered from 0 or 1?

That would be great! JF has 6 voices.
If you use ii.jf.play_note( pitch, level ) it will dynamically assign the voices and has a more polyphonic sound. This is my favourite way to use JF.
If you use ii.jf.play_voice( channel, pitch, level ) then it will be monophonic.
Most scripts use the play note mode but the ones that have multiple tracks also include the play voice mode as well.
Up to you on what you add so maybe start with play note?

My use case will be a combination of midi, crow outs and jf or just jf, so having it dynamically assign voices would be best.

Can’t wait to try it out!
