I’m planning a bit of a tour with my friend Josh Mason this summer and thought I’d reach out to this special community for any ideas of people/venues/organizations to reach out to for help booking shows or people to play with in the towns below. We have ideas for most, but I figured there’s no harm with seeing what others might suggest.

I’ll be up in Rhinebeck on July 4th for some family commitments and if there’s anything within an hour or two of that Hudson Valley area north of NYC, I’m all ears for sure for a random one off. Picking up Josh presumably somewhere up in that area and working our way POSSIBLY through some/all of these towns depending on how things play on our way back to my neck of the woods in Louisville, KY:

Montreal, QC
Burlington, VT
Portland, ME
Boston, MA
Albany or more central NY
Providence, RI
NYC
Philadelphia, PA
DC/Baltimore
Pittsburgh, PA
Columbus, OH
Cincinnati, OH

I’m excited for some adventure!

Not related to booking/shows, but if anyone has suggestions for good hiking, camping, record stores, restaurants (that’s probably endless), breweries (Josh digs the beer), etc. I’m all ears. I don’t know New England all that well. After all, the shows are only part of the fun

I’ll PM regarding Pittsburgh :grinning:

If you decide to swap in/add Cleveland, OH I could help get a show booked!

A couple recommendations:
Cincy: Rhinegeist Brewing, Blue Oven Bakery
Columbus: Katalina’s for breakfast

I know a few venue agents and event managers here in Montreal. If you need help getting a good booking I’m happy to put you in contact.

Cool, send them along. @analogue01 is on the case, but no harm tossing around ideas. Thank you!

@joshhh - thanks. I’ve never played Cleveland, but if Pittsburgh and/or Columbus don’t end up making sense or working out, that’s a reasonable place to investigate, and I’ll be in touch. Being from Louisville, I AM down with the Rhinegeist

Ah, you’re probably in even better hands already, then! If you have an EPK, though, point me at it and I’ll get it in the hands of the folks I know.

You are hitting the WRONG Portland!!

Ironically, I’m headed to NYC in April on a travel voucher for a pseudo-honeymoon in April. I may not be able to apply that money to my fiancée and may have to sort some kind of little adventure on my own out with the remaining balance and was thinking about flying out to PDX and maybe trying to play up there and in Seattle.

If you’d like to play in Utica N.Y. feel free to send me a message. I have an ongoing electronic music series and we have a nice community of people who are into it.

Thanks Andrew. I’ll keep that in mind if the central NY routing ends up working out. It seems like there are little spots dotting the entire state. Pretty neat!

some of the diy indie kids started this a year or so ago and it still is SUPER amazing. it’s an open source/crowd source document with venues all over the united states with contact info, venue size, monetary info, and more. please everyone save this and also add to it. it has already made many tours for me and friends way easier.

Burlington here! Do you have a venue yet?
Make sure to stop by Greg Davis’s new record store when you’re in town.

If you decide to add Toronto let me know!

I’m actually hoping Greg might be able to help with the show. I have only played there once and it was with Greg maybe 11 years ago. We toured a bit together back in the day and have kept up since as best we can. I loved it up there though. Definitely one of the spots I really hope works out, if for no reason but so that I can catch up with him!

I could make some Philly recommendations? Are you using laptop or modular?

Hi Kaba, maybe both? I’m all ears for ideas. Philadelphia may be one of the trickier spots as I know very few people there aside from Chris Ward who books at Johnny Brenda’s (I think still), which is much larger of a venue than what would work for our stuff!

lol portland me is actually a really cool town!
