Anyone here make generative art or do visualizations?
I kind of want to try to dabble in it a little bit for fun. (for now, just to make some genreative graphics, like for album cover).
From my understanding, there’s various paths and options in this area, and it largely depends on what you want to accomplish and how in-depth you want to get, correct?
For example, if one just wants to make generative art for album covers (still images), then Processing is probably a good choice as it’s easier learn while also providing the options to do live audio/visualization should one choose to explore that in the future?
Now, if one is more focused on audio/visualization, then there’s p5.js, openframeworks, etc. And for those more adventurous and want to get more in-depth or require better performance or realtime rendering, there’s even procedural graphics programming via C/C++ (like those in demoscene), but at that point it’s pretty much another arena altogether as that requires a wealth of knowledge in graphics programming. Man, those demoscene guys are insane.
Anyways, just curious if anyone plays around in this area and would love to hear your thoughts on the subject.
