Giant Monome - polygome for special needs

I worked in a special needs school here in Birmingham UK, The Dovedale Centre in James Brindley School with the children over a number of months to give kids an experience of different controllers - maschine, launchpad, monome etc. and they liked the monome best (obvs!), running monome sum so i made a giant version of polygome, that hangs on the wall for when they get ‘time out’ from lessons if it all gets a bit too much…
they developed a remote control to cycle through programme changes on FM8 in MAX, which is running the BEAP library version of polygome. It’s essentially a big launchpad emulator plugged into the usb of a mac mini that boots with scripts… if only norns had existed in those days - was a few years ago, now…
It’s currently on display at BOM - Birmingham Open Media near New Street station until Xmas if you’re in town…
