i mainly wanted to sync up with ableton over wifi. i’ll look into it a little deeper. thanks

Yeah, worth taking a look at the script in maiden. Check if it’s even clocked (haven’t used it myself, not by the computer). If it is, there’s some great threads a bit back about how to bring scripts up to the new global clicking system. I say this as someone who has bounced off of Lua a few times; so who knows how helpful I am!

hey, thanks. I’m just using plain metro. I guess i can just replace it w clock then. will look into it!

No problem! Btw, can’t wait to have time to actually sit down and try this! Life’s got me to the point where I can only frequent the forum. Don’t have the time to actually make noise. Haha

Hello Yota-san!

PR submitted that adds global clock (and midi start/stop):

Note - this may need some additional work since the clock value is not a standard BPM - so not really sure what will happen with tempo sent from Ableton (probably nothing yet). Will test more soon.

that was quick!
i’ve merged the change. ありがとーー。

Also working on mapping “tempo” in BPM (as might be sent by ableton Link) to the delta value.

Not sure if its what I’m supposed to do, but I left this running while clearing out my studio. Amazing patch. Thanks for putting this out!

turn a few knobs and you have another background music for next time you clean the studio

What does the r and g parameters do?

each cell is a nonlinear dynamical system (differential equation?) controlled by the r parameter. the g parameter connect the cells so that they interact. but what exactly these do is a bit mysterious to me.

Exactly what I did yesterday. Also kinda want to get a second Norns to process Grd through.

Wait, does Grd process live audio?

It can’t, I was talking about running Grd through another Norns with maybe Cheat Codes or Cranes for some looping.

Ah! Okay, thought so. I’ve been wanting to sample Grd in to lots of devices. Morphagene, OP-Z, Tracker, Mangl and Cheat Codes to say the least!

It would be supercool to have a sample load menu though as I understand it is sample based.

You can do it in the actual folders. Not a “simple” process for many, but possible. The creator mentioned it up above

Yup, I saw that, I was more hoping for the lazy way without the need for a computer. I have a small collection of sounds I usually keep in my audio folders but fair enough, doing it the other way works as well.

I have that general thought process with norns pretty often. Haha. But then again, I just don’t think I’ll ever escape having a computer be central to my music making. Whether it’s

Summary

recording, adding samples, organizing samples, mixing, regularly drooling over Slate + Ash’s cycles, downloading samples, yadda yadda yadda

But hey, adding the ability to swap samples is potentially not the most Egregious of programming swaps. I realize the sample structure is in Super Collider, but it could be something someone could achieve.

I know, that Supercollider/lua world is however rather intimidating, I tried with the tutorials and the studies, still… I guess I should rinse and repeat…
