Thought I should give my grid and arc some love, plugged them in and fired up Max but no devices recognized. Seems to be an issue with hot plugging the devices, if I do a reboot they connect fine and are using Apple’s FTDI, can’t find any other installed on the computer. Any ideas how to solve this?

Both grid and arc are 2015 edition with alu-plates. No problems with them once connected other than the need to do a full reboot to get them connected.

what’s your OS version?

have you installed the newest serialosc? https://github.com/monome/serialosc/releases

(the version bundled in the Sum installer is slightly older)

can you reconnect simply by close-opening the max patch?

I’m on 10.12.5, I think I’m on 1.4 of serialosc, but now I’m not sure how to check the version, how do I do it?

Nope, I need to reboot the computer, closing max and opening the patch again won’t help.
