Could you expand on the PM aspect of this a bit more? This thing has always intrigued me. As a virtual analog it seems pretty bland (I think it has the same engine as e.g. the first gen Electribes?) but the other stuff it can do seems pretty interesting.

the prophecy is another one i still think hasn’t been matched, though the yamaha VL engines win for detail

it has karplus strong, and then two models for brass and reed. it can also do FM and VA and has waveshapers + dual filters and more effects, so the engine can get quite deep as a lot of these modes are layerable. plus there are the performance controllers which really take it to another level

the braids flute mode comes close to some prophecy stuff for sure

the z1 is a polyphonic prophecy but AFAIK the models have slightly more features and it is way easier to edit, though you lose the dual waveshapers

you can hear prophecy in action during the middle section of here, with a sort of tribal howl sound:

i love this series you’re doing. the radias one really had me strongly considering buying one. i still might. such good work though, just wanted you to know how much i enjoy these digital synth explorations
