How are you packing your grids/arcs/norns?

Pro tip: if you place your WiFi nub exactly here then it won’t come loose no matter how much you shake around the OG shipping box.

Kinda feel like a dork posting packing pics but here you are! The pelican 1450 can comfortably pack the following:

Arc
Norns (factory)
Grid
M8
OMX-27
Hachi-Ni

Battery Pack
Little Notebook
Little bag of all the cords needed to jam.

Enough extra room for a little speaker probably.

Big thanks to the Pelican 1170 recommendations on the thread. Is the perfect Norns and 128 carrier, though am slightly nervous about the grid buttons/faceplate being compressed by the foam.

A repurposed case that happened to fit a speaker, battery, wall plug and cables!
And then that slipcase for the grid from Amazon that someone suggested in this thread.

Little mobile sound studio hehe
I have the TE softcase for the OP-1 as well, but that thing is an absolute cat hair magnet lolol

I took a punt with this case for my norns and although it has round edges it fits perfectly and i like the additional pockets for cables and other accessories.

i’ll be the first to say this is overkill, but

Recently did something similar. Cables eat so much space.

Hello
For those who have one, how do you carry your 16n faderbank safely ?

16n is definitely one of the most fragile pieces of gear i know/have. i used to wrap it in bubblewrap and put it in a shipping box. since i got my peli case i stack it on top of my grids (with 5 mm foam in between). i also use two pieces of foam on each side of the sliders for extra protection.

I keep on delaying on buying a peli but I guess I’ll have to buy sooner or later

Made myself a DIY portable norns shield station. Using the same Bubm bag I use to pack my portable gear for outdoors sessions. Installed some wooden plates so my norns doesn’t dance around and everything is a bit more sturdy…since the bag is not a hard case. The station includes:

  • norns shield (obviously)
  • a battery pack
  • a headphone amp
  • a small portable speaker (for when I can’t be bothered to put headphones on)
  • audio and usb cables (all hooked up)
  • a monome grid (tucked away in the front pouch)

It’s functional but not that perfect. I gotta find a good hard case that can house all of this and still be small enough to throw it in a backpack.

I’ve got a couple Pelican cases I use for whatever gear I’m using at the time. And a bag of foam pieces to customize. Specifically to Norns and Arc, I recently picked up two custom cut felt covers to add a bit more protection from WaveTable. Real nice.

Thanks for these links! Just bought one from pi hut and it’s a really good fit for the most recent grid model:

Haha yes! Nice that it still lives!

Cheers! I was looking around for a matching felt bag for the Grids. Perfect!
