Yesterday I was on the verge of giving up on this one. Today I have a track that is almost finished. Iā€™m still in awe of those who manage to participate in the Disquiet Junto on a regular basis.

Iā€™d love to contribute something to this, and Iā€™m thinking Norns will be a big part of my piece. The current idea is to use the Cocoquantus to ā€œlistenā€ to Norns (by way of an electromagnetic pickup), and use Norns to process the Coco. Weā€™ll see :slight_smile:

@fjna and @steveoath are the early-birds! But thankfully theyā€™re using Google Drive, so that makes it easy for me to stash their files in a safe place (my own Google Drive) even though iā€™m at work and away from the computer where I put the compilation together.

Mannequin Soul (they would have if they are hylozoic i guess. Interesting tangent)
MI Plaits is the only sound source. Looped w/ w/ and recorded to tape.
A little bit of Clouds and analogue delay.

Whoops, best laid plans of mice and men and allā€”guess I recorded a piece for Mangrove, W/ and Clouds.

Ironically, the things that were blocking me from making progress with the DX7 were

  • being scared of making drums on the DX7 in specific and
  • worrying about not getting a sufficient variety of interesting sounds.

I end up solving these problems by not caring about them, so I guess this wasnā€™t the project to figure that stuff out anyway :sweat_smile:

I think Im in. chosen instrument is Doepfer dark energy. The original one. Picked this up a few months ago and needed a project to get me to crack into it. Current mix is a sort of a shifting noise slab thing with interludes.

I made it! Just submitted.
I made it with a 303 (a TT-303 actually) + Strymon Big Sky reverb.

I think that has the most impact when people can hear it while they read it, ie: after release.

Another idea: send your track notes to me in PM and I could include them in the Bandcamp site. Do people read those? Maybe here on the forum is the better place for it. It was just a thought.
