Found this that looks interesting for handling I2C between cases:
Claims to support high-speed data over multiple meters of Cat5e cable, as well as hot-plugging without crashing the bus. Differential transmission should also prevent a lot of ground-voltage weirdness.
Anybody try using a chip like this with the Teletype ecosystem?
