For today’s entry, I was reading about Éliane Radigue last night in bed, so here’s a piece I call “The Rapid Radigue” – it comes in at a “mere” 5 minutes. This is like the stuff I sleep to all the time. Except busier.

The “secret sauce” here is the Filter 8. It’s the combination of the Band Boost + Reject output which is great for resonant feedback patching and the “fine” tuning knob. Just wow.

Jamuary Third: cheat codes, w/syn, and just friends (with a little mechanical keyboard typing sample to give it some texture). I’m finding that I like using this “jamuary” thing as a way to practice and iterate on ideas, rather than coming up with something brand new every day. Here cheat codes banks B and C are sequencing just friends and w/syn, respectively. Audio from the modular is being sent into norns inputs, and cheat codes bank A is chopping up that audio from the live buffer

Feeling the pressure. Made some noise on day 2, but unmoved by it. Day 3 more promising, with a glitchy Serge patch driven by bidirectional routers, some DUSGs, and the VCFS (but unusually for me, no SSG).

Hope a patch a day is ok for Jamuary - there’s some great work in this thread which is a lot more developed!!

#Jamuary2023 Ep. 3: CP300 Ambient Waltz

I love waltzes and today is a good excuse to play in 3/4 as it’s January 3rd. E-flat minor. 52BPM. Yamaha CP300 solo with manual shimmer reverb. I want to think the piece is in the style of Harold Budd’s piano work.

This one isn’t a Genuary entry, which is a bummer since the theme is “Glitch Art”, which is dear to my heart. Alas, I didn’t manage to finish the glitching code I was working on. Maybe tomorrow.

Less drone, more weird this time.

1: Strega/Mimeophon/Wobblebox, sampled and looped in Bitwig Grid. The LFO that drives the sample position also fires triggers that clocks 0-Ctrl, which sequences everything else. The main pitch output is quantized to 1/5 octaves in Teletype.

2: Shapeshifter, processed in stereo with Warps & its own folder, Natural Gate, MF-104S, Koszalin, Valhalla Delay
