Morphagene, Furthrrrr, Clank Chaos, OTO Bam

Accidentally ran the FG in the right channel only, kinda like it like that. The Beatles did it right?

Ridiculous. But fun…

My latest one is a small Syntrx sequence. And there are a few earlier ones as well that I forgot to post here :relaxed:

After playing around with Bitwig’s note grid, I figured it would be interesting to try to cover Music for Airports. I setup an approximation of the timing and pitch of the notes, and sequenced Cherry Audio’s Dreamsynth with a choir patch. Goodhertz’s Tupe had the perfect preset to provide texture.

#Jamuary2023 Ep. 8: Three Organelles

Okay, okay… I only have one but I did three overdubs. Organelle lends itself towards quirky, lo-fi, cheesy… Is it the wooden keys? Or maybe Critter & Guitari’s marketing approach that embraces and leans into all that?

In any case, I’m leaning into that myself this time with sounds from the '80s: FM piano arpeggios, an FM bass, and a Mellotron flute for the lead / pad. Even the drums are samples from LinnDrum. Those are sequenced in Ableton Live for convenience.

104 BPM, 4/4, C-major. At this point I already recorded more entries for Jamuary than during the entire January 2022. Cheers! :tumbler_glass:

I spent yesterday remixing drums and will have an album to share eventually, but no Jam7 entry.

Today is more Radiguish droning, with a little Beads that doesn’t quite work yet.

I hear/see so much great music here. Very nice! Keep up the good work.

Today I focussed on the plumbutter, adding wingie, oganelle and some other small gear. Enjoy!

Day 8:

I think this is my favorite recording so far!

Brought the pods together with the 7U rack. The Morphagene is fed the main melodic line, and clocked to record from it periodically. Its playback is then pitched down and reversed, with half sound-on-sound. The vhikk is droning through the Versios, with the Sloths modulating them all. The Pizza is sequenced by the Chaos, and the Mimeophon adds repeats on the high end, full wet.

Day 8: A friend had posted a cover of “every time the sun comes up” and I did a Deluge version (before realizing who the original artist is - Sharon Van Etten)

A fun tune, very catchy melody

Eight days done!
Quite often I have some thing going that I think is quite nice and then I add too much on top and it turns out a mess. It’s a journey.

It’s Dronuary 8th. I went on a bit of a Cortini tangent.

This is a Microfreak through a Meris Ottobit Jr, and a Felt Instruments Lekko piano. The video is shot in Helsinki, Finland.

1: VCV Rack [2x PO-204, Warps] into Imitor
2: Just Friends through Peradam, Audiothing Wires
3: Olegtron 4060 through Valhalla Delay & Stardust 201

While Jamuary has had me falling back in love with the Thingamagoop 3000, I’m less sure about the 4060. It’s the sort of thing that’s fun to play with for a little bit, poking components into the breadboard pretty much at random… and then put it back in a drawer for a few years.

Sidrax and Euroserge duet. Sapel, Maths, Sport Mod, a couple of Doepfer oscilators, and and a pinged VCFQ processed through the Resonant Equalizer make the base of the track while Sidrax plays along.

The intention going into this patch was using the same Harmonic Oscillator that I use for the bass with the square wave output to create a pad with the wave folded output. The drum machine is playing with several different length tracks to generate polyrhythms that extend beyond a typical 4x beat loop.
