Wups i was just trying to get that tight windshield on, but it accidentally turned to brain-melting ASMR :massage_man:

It’s Dronuary 17th.

This is Klevgrand Pads through a feedback delay patch with Mackie Mix8 and ALM MFX running Ursa Minor Echoverb. The video is shot on a dried out river bed near Höfn, Iceland.

January 17th, something a bit more melodic as I explore Bitwig’s note effects. Being able to automate their settings with LFOs is very cool. Synth parts by vital.

In today’s jam, I ran the Verbos Harmonic Oscillator directly into the Verbos Amplitude and Tone Controller using the built in filter to control the bass. I modulate the filter’s cutoff using a sequence that only opens once in a 5-step sequential switch that is triggered with a euclidean rhythm. The second Harmonic Oscillator is going into a Verbos Dual Four Pole filter that I apply a tape echo to using the Strymon El Capistan. The 3rd voice is coming from an Expert Sleepers Disting mk4 being ran into a Verbos Bark Filter Processor. The final voice is using the metallic noise from the Verbos Random Sampling module with an envelope coming from the Koma RH-301 pedal.

Was just granuling away with some field recordings from my local laundromat for quite a while but couldn’t help layering grooves

OP-Z and mangl on norns.

#Jamuary2023 Ep. 17: Live Granular from Scratch with Iridium and Norns

Today we’re getting experimental: realtime processing audio coming from Norns with Iridium’s live granular mode. I’m tweaking it a lot so you can hear how different it can sound with a single sound source. Finally, I play a dreamy sequence with the resulting spacious sound.

A live jam with zxcvbn script controlling 4 modular voices. Added a field recording of the rain for some glue.

I recorded two extremely different takes with this patch, with simple but important changes to the modulation on one of the voices and a completely different improvised melody on the bass. The second take was the clear winner.

  • Hadean fretless ukulele bass, Trash 2, Blades (L) and Peradam (R), Beads
  • Akemie’s Castle, Imitor, with LFO and Clep Diaz modulation on levels
  • Mimeophon, Melotus Versio, Lacrima Versio

Full mix through Velvet Machine (fading from full wet to full dry).

I did the thing! Sloppy sleepy OP1 jam

I found a children’s book in my audio hijack sample folder… I can’t say I remember capturing this (I must have been deep in the rabbit hole).

I added some sounds.

#Jamuary2023 Ep. 18: Mixed Meters with Iridium and CP300

A waltz? Or a prog-rocky 7/8 power ballad? ¿Por Qué No Los Dos? In this tune we mix both, add jazzy drums and fretless bass from Ableton Live, and that’s it.

Eb-major, 100 BPM, 3/8 + 7/8.

This is great and I keep listening to it.

I don’t have a Norns yet.

What does mangl do for you?

Thanks for posting.

It’s Dronuary 18th.

This is an upright piano and Fors.fm Chiral. The video is shot in Pyhäntä, Finland.

a drone centered around the xoac sofia thru 3s, with support from brenso and access virus pad noodling. just friends, verbos random, and sport mod 2 are maxed out on modulation duties. jf modulates the filter and many sofia waveshaping parameters. verbos is there for modulating jf v/o, triggering and modulating maths envelopes (the brenso bonks) + moving a sequence from stages, and (via shift register) modulating mix panning for the sofia pulse train outs. some of the sofia is sent through a belgrad and into the verbos delay, then into the mix, other sofia parts are sent to a xoac timiszoara for grain panning. there’s a little end-of-chain spring and q-wah resonation from the h9 and h90, too.
