I’m a Rubyist starting Monome. I think I can say that in the week I’ve messed with things node is so far my favorite. I’m set up in WebStorm to develop with IdeaVim 
, the libraries are just working, unlike the Python examples, which seem to be outdated, all the tools are supported, unlike pd-extended, and I don’t have to pay, unlike Max/MSP + Ableton.
So I am happy with how at least the grid studies are working for Node.
