I just found out about Jim Doble, a musical instrument maker operating under the name of “Elemental Design”.

I love the sound of the “Aquarion”, a glass xylophone he designs… you can see it being played here:
Oh wow. I know usually DIY xylophones/marimbas are made from copper pipes since they’re easier to work with that steel or wood, but glass is probably just as easy to work with and better sounding. Reminds me of the 18th century precursor to ambient music, which was also made of glass
