This takes me back to my comments in the earlier thread. Its overwhelming support suggests to me Koma didn’t really need to do this, but obviously it’s fine that they did. I guess it’s a useful tool for gauging risk.

That’s the one. It is, indeed, a good moment we’re enjoying.

The second update makes it pretty clear that they already had some extra special plans in nude before launching the campaign. Hard to imagine that they were expecting 750% more than the goal. More power to them!

Also would really love to know how this compares with tehn’s super secret compact mixer ideas/plans

This isn’t exactly were he announced the idea, but he does mention it in this thread. I thought it was right around the time of the isms introduction

Ah! That thread was before my time here.

Funny, I went to the top of the thread, read @tehn’s OP, and before I even finished my typing fingers were practically yelling “bantams all the way!!!”…

…and then got to the bottom of his post.

“bantam/tt.”

Yep.

The Kickstarter just announced some news in the update for backers only. Would someone feel comfortable sharing what it is? Thanks.

The unexpected success of our Kickstarter, did not only make us very happy, but also very creative and inspired. Some weeks ago, we already had some additional ideas for add-ons, but didn’t have the time to make them before the campaign, so currently we are investigating some additional add-ons and stretch goals for our Kickstarter and started making some additional prototypes.

This is all we can say for now, we do not want to get anybody’s hopes up, but since we have almost a month left, we hope to present something very cool and very usable with the Field Kit (and other pieces of gear) very soon!

look at this bullshit https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1400947701/drumpants-an-entire-band-in-your-pocket?ref=category_newest

I’m a drummer and we are tragic things. I tap all day long and have all my life.
I’m gonna buy me some drum pants. That sounds so rediculous - even in my head.

Hey! I’m so stubborn about Bastl, waiting to jump until I’ll finally see some aluminum panels. Maybe one day…

Wow. Just impressed by the project. First, it’s super appealing on a design point of view. Second, it looks small and straightforward (http://tinyurl.com/hlf4re5) and looks to work with iPad so perfect for a small setup. Finally, DIY kit is my cup of tea. : )

The Facebook following just started!

Re the latest campaign update, if you’re still on the fence with the Field Kit, this might be relevant information:

We are aiming to have a minimum production capacity of 100 units a week, which means we should be able to ship most of the units out in the months of March and April. We will ship out orders in the order they came in, which means: first backed, first shipped.

Hey Icsp!
If you like aluminium panels i have something for you.
This was still without light guides…
It is very straightforward and compact. But not only for small setups.
You have MIDI THRU / OUT so you can chain multiple units.
Plus there is a extension port for adding more outputs.

[Thank you for the picture @Gösta Wellmer]

Ah i almost forgot. About DIY. There will be a open hardware version of the unit.
If you like soldering, please come here

Oh nice! Love the black panel! I’ll be on tour in Europe in March, but not sure I’ll go beyond Leipzig… Do you have any documentation about Automat? We should also maybe switch to another thread.

Wow, the Field Kit is a nice, tidy size:

the dimensions are 19cm x 11.7cm x 5cm (outside dimensions of the box. ) Inside dimensions are 17.4cm x 10.4cm.

According to a post on the Kickstarter page.

Hey Icsp,
Leipzig would be close enough.
Send me a message [ johannes at dadamachines dot com ] if you want to meet up and maybe have a small jam session
Documentation is coming. I will open up another thread if we have all things for sharing lined up. Can’t wait myself.

Sorry for the Holidays delay. As I already said, that look like a really nice project. We are trying to figure out when and where we’ll be during the tour. I’ll send you an email later! Make the project happen soon!!

anyone tried it yet… it’s really simple and lovely. - and it’s currently making very good friends with my Aleph
