Don’t worry! It’s not like we have a huge hurry, it’s mostly me trying to wrap things up so I can get to do other things. Whatever works for you, works for me.

Time for another update! There’s quite a few actually.

  1. CDs have been shipped and should arrive soon. We’ve also ordered all the stuff we need for the shipping.
  2. We now have a slick press page at http://kvsu.net/ironpress/ and I’ve started to contact people to see if anybody would be interested in writing about the project. Huge thanks to @jlmitch5 for helping us with that!
    If anybody sees typos or wants anything changed on their bios please let me know asap!
    @emenel for now I’ve just added a very minimal text for you, I needed to get this going, release is in a little more than a month and that doesn’t give me a lot of time. But if you want that changedplease send me a new text!
  3. I’ve made a little video for my remix, which can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EO3ZQspses. If anybody else feels like making one, I’d be happy to include it on the main project page and send it around via our newsletter and facebook page.

We do need your help here a bit. Please let people know about the album through whatever means you have, and if you have any contacts with blogs and/or zines, feel free to send them the link to the press page above.

It’s released!

Incidentally today is what’s called “unsinniger Donnerstag” (Fat Thursday) in the German speaking regions. It’s also the day we recorded the track unsinnig (hence the name), the first track we recorded for malosco session.

Everything comes full circle :slight_smile:

It’s been a wonderful experience and I would like to thank all the people involved for participating and contributing with their remixes! A special thanks goes to @jlmitch5 who helped with setting up the press/promo website.
Also big thanks to @Simeon for the mastering!
Also thanks to lines as a whole for making projects like this possible.

For the sake of transparency, here’s also a quick overview about the financial aspects.
We’ve spent around 450€ so far to make this album.
Since this is a community project and it would not be fair to make profit from it, if we are able to make more money out of this than we have spent, we’ll be donating the difference to charity.

For everybody who’s been contributing a remix: CDs are on their way!

@sunbeamer: looks like you’re the only one who didn’t get it from all the CDs I’ve sent out. It might be stuck somewhere. I can send another one if this doesn’t arrive, though it might be worth waiting for the postal systems to be fully operational again, which might be, well, we don’t know when that might be.

I actually had wanted to do this earlier, but then I got distracted.
It’s a good time now I think though, since we’re more or less all at home and there’s more time to listen to music and dream about summer time… with an album that doesn’t really sound like summer at all :smiley:
