I too have received it! I’ve not opened it yet because I want to record that process for potential use in my track but don’t have time to start until my work deadline passes (which is this coming Monday!)

Thank you!

Love this idea!

And thanks for the updates everybody!

Received mine yesterday and already have some good ideas flowing. Excited to be a part of this.

Checking if everybody got their vinyl in the meantime.
@onewayness, @Peksy, @Oneven and @Joule did you receive yours?

Yes! Really looking forward to doing this. Thanks again!

For various reasons I will most likely be working on my reversioning at the end of July… hope that’s not too late?

Just thought of a cool use for the vinyl. I have this little photoresistor vca circuit and it could be cool to try to physically make the vinyl block light (maybe by attaching a string and spinning it).

Thanks everybody for the updates!

Not quite sure what you have in mind, but whatever it is, it sounds cool!
Keep us updated!

Progress is ok here, have a track mostly laid out and ideas how to reshape it a little and thicken it up in places…definitely need a few more sessions…

Yup, sorry for the delay.

and… we have a first submission! Thanks @Zedkah for your track!

If anybody feels inclined to share their process here in the thread, please do so!

I can do that!

I ended up using the track ‘Lullaby’. I started by recording the entire track off the vinyl. I then time-stretched and did some spectral processing to the results, and split that into 4 segments, which are panned across the stereo field and weave in and out throughout the track. The original track is in there very low in the mix as well. I did some messing about with the needle in the runout groove, which I used to create a glitchy percussive little noise loop. And then I also created a granular & delay-based patch in VCVRack, which I ‘played’ by needle dropping into random sections of the track to create little fluttery bursts. And then the whole lot is run through a tape simulator for some wow and flutter and pseudo-tape saturation.

Look forward to hearing what everyone else has come up with!

Thanks a lot for sharing your process @onewayness!

Reminder

Yesterday was the deadline. If anybody is like 90% done by just needs that little extra time to finish, please get in touch with me. We won’t be super strict about it as long as it’s just a matter of a couple of days. After that we will consider the project closed and will start to think how to put it all together!
