And the shipping cost to EU is double of what it is to US. I was really surprized to see that for an European product. With this kind of shipping prizes it probably makes sense to wait for the instruments to be in the shops in EU.

I clarified the high shipping prices with them and apparently its their way of handling taxes, so shipping costs = taxes + shipping costs. So the Onde is ~950 incl. VAT in the EU.

I must say that I am very excited for this and I hope that it will be available to test in Poland/Berlin because one of the things that I miss the most when playing the synthesizers is resonance of instrument body. I love playing classical guitar or grand piano because I can feel the whole instrument “working” and I feel that it could solve the feeling of disjoint when improvising with someone who plays acoustic instrument. Unfortunately price is a bit step for someone from Poland but if they will deliver all the promises then I will just need to start saving.

Thanks, now it’s clear. I just could not understand it from the description.

It seems like if this takes off a concept, there might be a market for much less expensive variations. Something smaller to let you feel the vibrations personally but not necessarily fill a room with sound. 690 euro is probably about as much as my entire collection of hand drums and a few beginner string instruments, all of which can do this

The team from la-voix-du-luthier
was kind enough to send me the ONDE, here is 0Coast - various audio source recordings, playing thru ONDE

Nice new video with some contemporary dancing https://youtu.be/iGGloVmVDh8
It’s a bliss to see the delicate way of promotion this project is taking. Awesome contrast with the usual marketing approach for your consumer electronics.

Really looking forward to it

Did these ship?

Does anyone have one? I’m so fascinated by this whole resonator wooden box beauty of an instrument.

It makes me want to quit my job and move into the attic above my local luthier and build resonant objects to install resonators into. (My wife and 3 little kids are gently holding me back from this goose chase.)

Would love to hear anyone’s experience.

“8 months later”

Still waiting. The last update a few weeks back had some nice shots of the rigs they constructed to shape the curves and said they expected to start shipping something “by the end of summer”.

I’m told patience is a virtue.

i emailed christophe for an update, here is the response:

"As explained in the last news (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lavoixduluthier/la-voix-du-luthier-powered-acoustic-soundboard-res/posts/2546952 ) we are starting the production itself this month (up to now we were building the production tools) and we should start delivering during fall (October).

We apologize for the delay, but setting up the production tools was longer than exepected (a lot a small action taking a bit longer than initially planed).

Have a nice day"

so looking forward to running my lyra 8 through this!

how do you like it? details of use/sound etc? so cool!!!

Well, I’ll let you know in a few days. First I need to reorganise my space as its rather large and my space isn’t

Also it needs to acclimatise because its been in cold FedEx vans for over a week.

First impression is that its very rich sounding with a marked roll-off on the high end. In the next week or so, once I’ve worked out how to mic it properly, I plan to do a side-by-side demo using the Easel comparing the Onde output to the same material recorded directly from the desk.

Oh, and it smells gorgeous.

I like the concept, but I think I’d rather buy a transducer for $10 and stick it on a guitar. Or an autoharp. Or a piano soundboard. Or the wood tabletop I have my modular on. Or…

Congratulations! I am in the 50s I think, so hopefully not more than a few more weeks to wait.

I think it will work well with your Lyra-8
