The latest light/DMX stuff I’ve been working on.

(Using a custom patch to control The Party Van and the DMX lights, so it different sections have different interaction/behavior types with live processing and lights) (only “processing” in the video is the ‘stutter’ effect and some onset-based recording/playback (with an occasional octave change while recording/playing)).

edit:
Wrote a blog post about this stuff:

I did a remix for the new Michel Banabila record, Marilli Remixed (Tapu Records). It was released today. The original Marilli album was released in 1983. Anyhow, here’s my track:

A lot of my track was accomplished in Audacity and using VCFs on my modular, but the rhythm from about 1:30 to 3:20 was done in mlr (Max, Monome 128). Oh, and I used a Novation Launch Control simultaneously to manage the volume of the four tracks I had running in mlr.

The full list of contributors to Marilli Remixed is: Andrés G. Jankowski, Andrew Lagowski, Arno Peeters, Bogumil Misala, Mike Kramer, Hanyo van Oosterom, Hero Wouters, Jos Smolders, Koos Derwort, Rutger Zuydervelt (Machinefabriek), Marc Weidenbaum, Martin Hoogeboom, Naoyuki Sasanami, Peter Van Cooten, Frans de Waard (QST), Radboud Mens, Roel Meelkop, Theo Calis, Wouter Veldhuis, and Lukasz Szalankiewicz.

I am very excited to share my very first publicly released track with the community that inspired me to upend my way of making and performing music. thank you all for your brilliant examples of invention, innovation and artistry.

made this with two friends (one supplying video and the other, poetry) for a multimedia art and technology event in Chicago last week.

recording was done in a single take using a 64 grid, re:mix, and some launchpad triggering edison-style chopped loops in ableton.

“jenkerfostins”… Played Warcraft? :smirk:

Uh why that ? That’s a videogame right ?

Haha. I’m completely off here… Need more coffee… Mixed up the singer (well, singer… ) with the videogame thing.
Track rocks though!

trying out battery powered only setup

absolutely love this!

Inspired by the ‘converting numbers to decimals’ thread, i found a nice way to generate drum patterns and rolls. This is without touching anything :

@instantjuggler I actually do have a video from like three years ago using my old (and eventually stolen) MPC500 monome40h kit setup.
Its not a track, its a mash up, and its not the same style… primitive, budding… The vocals are Freddy Todd and Black Mic while the main track is Breakage, with some chops n breaks sprinkled. Freddy really liked it and made him start attempting monome emulation on his Livid…

liking my new musical direction better, i was just into playing parties, laziness, taking part in the party and so on. Probably why my karma took all my gear away from me and forced the transformation that followed.
