Piece composed for the eighth edition of “Gwaith Sŵn’s Sonic Darts” radio show, first broadcast on 1 February 2016 on Resonance104.4fm. The theme for the show was “ambience”.

Here is what I put in my email to the rest of Gwaith Sŵn:

Here is my, um, “ambient” track (I guess “ambient” in the original Eno tape-loop sense of the word). It samples the greetings from the Voyager Golden Record and lays them over some slowed-down tape-loops taken from the London Symphony Orchestra’s version of “Space Oddity”…

yoooooooooooooooooo!

How ive missed both this forum and this thread! Ive been holed up in chicago working on new compositions with and without other artists.

This video is of a composition i did with chicago artist Rahim Salaam. I sampled the original track at first, then convinced him to come to my house and record a section.

Hope you guys dig and recognize some of our hard work ( in monome application form @elquinto @ithkaa @jasper_ryder @tehn ) !!!

excellent

. . . . . . .

that’s nice thanks!!!

Still no Monome in this, but I still like being here, so:

Less of a track, more a page from a sketchbook; I am learning how the Tiny Modular That Could works. This is about the second thing I have recorded with it, on the second day I had it. Thoughts so far: it definitely feels like an instrument, and I like that; motion is about the most interesting thing I can think of. Onwards.

Here is a recording from Friday’s gig at Sound Room XXXIV, Third Space, Helsinki. The first half contains “on the hoof” reworkings of tracks from my album Echoic, while the second half is taken up with a twenty minute performance for mono reel-to-reel tape machine, two particularly mangled tape loops and phrase sampler. Enjoy!

Setlist:

  1. There
  2. Bark
  3. Sea
  4. Absent
  5. Sketch for Reel-to-Reel Tape Machine, Tape Loops and Phrase Sampler

Many thanks to Ana Gutieszca and Sébastien Piquemal.

just finished this remix for a norwegian pop singer friend of mine, really quite proud of it! (especially as it turns into a bit of a face-peeler half way through)
lot of use of @rick_monster 's grains aleph module on this too…

Thanks dude. I did the songs, not the videos, but there is a whole article on Johan’s process on Creator’s Project: http://thecreatorsproject.vice.com/blog/deep-dream-music-videos-premiere
