Sonic Structures is an exploration of sound, sculptural objects, and performance. Through the use of my modular synthesizer, I will be scoring the interactions between the objects and the performer. The physical and sonic elements of this performance are means of engaging the space that they occupy. All of the sculptural elements surrounding me throughout the performance were originally improvised drawings in my sketchbook. The designs were created while listening to my synthesizer, where each patch is also made through improvisation. Now, these drawings serve as sculptural artifacts of my process. Through giving the structures physical bodies to take up space in the room, the performance will act as a celebration of their existence and allow the sculptures to experience the sonic environment they were designed in.
