Hi guys, after a week with Qu-bit Prism, i recorded a simple track around it.

Mutable Plaits and Tides v2 voices, sequenced with Marbles, modulated with Tides v1 and Ornament & Crime, and processed with Clouds and Qu-bit Prism. Recorded in one take in Ableton live.

This is the first track I made with the Ciat Lonbarde Plumbutter. Accompanied by Cocoquantus and a droning Tascam 424 Portastudio. The Elektron Analog Four is just used to add reverb and delay before everything is recorded straight into the Marantz PMD430 tape machine. It turned out a little noisy but let’s just pretend it was intentional. Hope you enjoy it.

Ohh, that’s lush! Sounds like you’ve found the CL sweet spot :green_heart:

Only got my Tetrax yesterday - so I have a long long way to go! - but your composition is a great reminder of just how many possibilities there are!

Thank you for sharing the video - I hope there will be more to come!

Thank you, Helen! I’m also fairly new to Ciat Lonbarde, got the Coco end of last year. But am already dreaming of the whole family. These machine tend to pull me out of my comfort zone - in a good way.

And yes, I already recorded another track and am sure more will follow.

Hey, what did you use for the visuals?

This is actually one of my favourites from you, which is funny because I seen you questioning how to get more “musical results” out of PB. I sure think you figured it out haha

I normally do ambient style stuff with the shared system but decided to see what I could coax out of it for a heavy drum sound.

STO is kick, Erbe-Verb is snare, Woggle out 1 is Hi-Hat, Woggle out 2 goes to Echophon which is being FM’d by out 3 and DPO does the bassline! The modulation osc is synced to principal with woggles smooth out modulating the expo FM of the mod osc (that’s where’s the flanger sound comes from).

I didn’t use any sequencing at all in this patch. It’s all done with tempi, except for the interval in the bassline which is stepped to an interval of the root via woggles burst output!

Morphagene is in TLA mode for texture at the beginning and end, and also to show that no drum samples were used

Very cool👍

Do you have a modulargrid for your rig?

I’m slowly learning my Shared System and am curious how you organized yours…

That’s the current configuration. I also have a Rosie, spare Black MATHS and a QPAS that I occasionally swap in and out!

That track in the top post is amazing, and I love the designs on the spinning records.

Here’s the most recent thing I posted to Bandcamp.

It’s a collection of recordings that are approximately inspired by sleepwalking.

Ha! Yeah. I was struggling at first. But @mlogger gave me some super useful tips that helped a lot. Still lots to learn, of course.

Well I’m (and I’m sure many others) are all ears for the process

Just put this up on bandcamp. The rhythm came out heavier than I had anticipated, but I like this much better than what I was planning.

edited because I couldn’t figure out how to embed the track!

Nice track. How did you made it ?

This is a combination of video camera > video mixer > TACHYONS + > CRT screen > and then completing the loop with both camera and video feedback.

This is all just one live take and did it a couple times until I had one that I felt it complimented the music.

Love the gritty, driven, tapelike sound. Would be curious what techniques you’re using to get the grit.

Here’s a track I recorded one-shot in October and decided it passed the test of time. I recall it was a rather dreary PNW rainy day and I was feeling very meditative and Deep Listening-y.

It’s my euro spitting out generative quantized notes periodically through a very long Z-DSP reverb, plus some chimes and plucks courtesy a Plonk. Overtop this, I lightly play my Yamaha Reface CP. It’s a zoner.

Color me impressed. This isn’t generally what I hear coming out of shared systems and really goes to show it’s the person, not the tool.
