I have a couple new albums coming out this week. This first is “Always Ending” on Otherworldly Mystics. My friend Amanda put together this wonderful video for the first song on the album:

The second release is “Perspectives” which is out now on Warm Gospel. It was made with eurorack/modular, micro-mellotron, and effects pedals.

Are you the same Pe Lang on Apple Music with an album titled Statics II?

yes, with Mahmoud Refat, Pe Lang + Zimoun. You find the full release here:

on part was similar to this set: motors, controllers, chains, materials and contact mics. “Statics III” is quadrophonic.

That’s awesome :+1:

Are the controllers manipulating the motors or a computer or what?!?

Motor speeds, high/lowpass cutoff and volume. We applyed different materials on top of the contact mic depending on the sounds/timbres. I don’t have a video of this liveset but later we builded a sound-sculpture with the “chain” idea…

I’ve done a video for the short track ‘Dear Tiger’ from my recent cassette/digital album Droxy (Sounds Against Humanity, https://soundsagainsthumanity.bandcamp.com/album/droxy).

I’ve found that initial grief and other overwhelming, emotionally negative experiences can feel very disorientating, as if everything around is you slowly twisting and lurching. This simple video tries to express the world warping in such a way, slow and inscrutable and distant. Yes, Tiger was just a cat. It’s painful nonetheless to lose a beloved pet.

I’m in the middle of tidying up and mixing down pretty much the last 5 years and more worth of unreleased tracks. So far I’ve done 9, totalling around 35mins, but there are dozens and dozens more to go. They’ll be coming out in some format or other over the rest of the year, but in lieu of anything concrete I just put one up on Instagram to test my crusty After Effects make-a-video-in-10-minutes-by-slicing-up-and-layering-archive-footage skills

I love your music! I’m in the midst of a “OP-Z or Deluge” crisis, and your videos make a really strong argument for the OP-Z

Hey thanks! I have both, and I’d say the OP-Z is a little more fun and creative overall (although the Deluge is probably more powerful overall). So I think the OP-Z is the right call!

Sorry for your loss. I don’t think they are ever “just” a cat, they can be such characters and a significant part of the family, so you shouldn’t feel embarrassed about grieving for them. It’s been more than 18 months since my old boy Gus went, and I still think about him most days. The grief gets easier with time.

Cats…I dearly miss them all…three are still alive…on the other side of this planet…I imagine them dancing to this…

"Neko No Nioi”, or “猫の匂い”, is Japanese for “Smell of cat” or “Cat smell”.

Link is now for a new mix.
