Here’s a video I took and then plum forgot about – a little ambient video collage I did, the second of its kind, in a cabin upstate that I’ve since left.

Sound experiment with only square wave in modular synth. Challenging and limiting in music composition by applying basic waveforms, push the limit of creativity and sound design skill.

The square wave differs from the sine wave in that, besides the fundamental frequency, it also contains odd harmonics. The sum of these harmonics and the fundamental give it its square shape. As you can see, its cycle is equally divided into two alternating constant amplitudes above and below the baseline. That’s why it’s called a symmetrical wave and, thus, a true square wave. Otherwise, if the time the wave is above the baseline differs form the time below the baseline, the wave is not symmetrical and it’s called a “rectangular” wave.

Hi,

I’ve been here since the beginning of the forum and first edition of Monome 256 and just wanted to share my recent LP - the title can bring some some obvious associations (although I didn’t use Polygome entirely on the album). Still I own lots of inspiration to this place and people. Thanks!

rlly dig these two experiments. there’s so much that can happen without changing timbre. how many voices are in the sine one ?

thanks, not so many voices, i use minimalist direction, just two layers

A track I did recently with my friend Louise. She’s the singer/songwriter & piano player, I played acoustic guitar, bass and did all the recording, mixing and mastering. Now available from all the usual streaming outlets.

It’s been almost a year and a half since I have finished a song that I’m happy with, so I decided to use the little bits and pieces of songs that I have created in that time to learn Max/MSP’s Vizzie. Here are my initial experiments using some royalty free videos I found on Pexels.

This is a lofi kinda thing

This one is mainly guitars (mostly running through the Meris Enzo) and a bit of drums

No drums on this one, Teletype + ER-301 taking centerstage…

Started a playlist of patches recorded from my portable euro system. Some of them will have a few cuts to get rid of boring spots, and I’ve added a bit of reverb in post, but other than that these are entirely produced by the modular system itself.

These first two are variations of the same patch, generated by a combination of Disting in quantized shift register mode, the Miasma function generator, and Frames in quad LFO mode.

A little sketch from yesterday’s session with Norns and Cocoquantus. Used Orca to sample and manipulate feedback generated by Coco, then pulled in those recordings (along with FM7 samples) to Glut and recorded a take.
