I will try to get to
06/27 Brattleboro, VT @ Stone Church (w/ Advance Base & Ruth Garbus)
This music is wonderful.

Pretty blown away by projections that my friend mixed and manipulated live through my performance on the weekend, using footage that I’d shot around the world as base for it all. Here is but a taste:

Another track from the wine kit. This one is again driven by Frames in quad LFO mode through Disting’s dual quantizer. The higher voice is the Dixie 2 and the lower voice is the Pittsburgh Primary Oscillator.

Where the Corpse Roads meet - thinking of a place called Boredale Hause and the comings and goings there

hey, thanks, i’m glad you enjoyed it. (thanks likewise @speakerdamage and @gregory.bell for the kind words.) excited to share the full record in 10 days (- it’s rare that i feel quite so enthused for a music release, maybe cause it’s not “mine” but is the work of someone i greatly love and respect)

i’m particularly looking forward to that VT show because a) it looks like a beautiful venue, b) ruth garbus is one of my all-time favorite singer/songwriters, severely underappreciated

Record company asked for a lyric video. So I wrote out the lyrics.

I’ve helped by creating the music for this little video to raise awareness about a threatened species of… Grasshopper (the “Crau Plain Grasshopper”) south of France. I share it here because, appart from some pizzicati / guitar and piano, all drums / glockenspiel fx / arpeggios have been made using various Norns apps (timber keys / takt / awake / molly the polly and some others I can’t remember) and a volca modular feeding it with sounds sometime. It’s pretty much the opposite of what you guys do with your norns, it’s very not experimental and meant to let the images speak for themselves and let the tranquility of the Crau Plain (“la steppe”) shine. And you’ll learn about a new kind of Grasshopper, isn’t that nice ?

Excellent work! It fits the video perfectly.

Thank you that’s very kind ! I grew fond of this Grasshopper now, I think we’re friends.

Orcin’ around

Been doing a miniature piece of music every week accompanied by a short film (or sometimes just performance video). The latest one isn’t up yet as I blew my Vimeo weekly limit but this is my favourite thus far, hope you enjoy:

Here is a piece I made recently using a small eurorack case, a digitakt, iPad and piano. Sort of ambient in the general sense but I thought it might fit in with the wonderful music in this thread.

X-PAN and Morphagene: Spatializing Genes

This video demonstrates a simple technique for making a (mono) Splice pan smoothly from left to right from beginning to end. Once we have made this transformation, the Slide control will double as a Pan control, traversing the Splice’s contents in time and space simultaneously.

This technique uses the following settings in the Morphagene’s SD Card options.txt:
inop 1
rsop 1
cvop 1

Lorenzo Stanco has created a convenient web app for quick editing of the options.txt. Try it out here: https://www.lorenzostanco.com/lab/morphagene/

I’ve revisited this epic song a handful of times since you posted. I love the synths and your vocals and lyrics. I’m looking forward to hearing the whole album!
