You can take the boy out of the 80s, but you can’t take the 80s out of the boy. This one came out of my brain unbidden; I thought I was making another sombre track until suddenly I wasn’t!

Something mostly mellow and melodic, sequenced by Teletype…

Posted a whole mess of new videos to my Vimeo/Youtube, but here are a couple of selections.

This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but yesterday I released a short vaporwave EP. I processed all samples through dictaphone and tape, and ran it all through the Alesis Wedge for reverb. But if I’m being honest, I prefer the album art to the actual album. Thought I’d share it though.

my last solo release, called All This Here, a sound cycle for Fogo Island (a small fishing community off the eastern coast of Canada) recorded mostly on the island featuring processed field recordings, synth, grand piano, violin, cello, and electronics. i returned to the island last year with a friend to film a bunch of videos with my friend colin and there are a few up on my youtube.

i just made a similar (in approach) record in Big Sur, California that is coming out this fall.

this video captures dusk falling over the village of Fogo. such a beautiful place with wonderful people if you ever get to go. there is a documentary called Strange and Familiar (that i did the score for hence the visits!) that is a real nice snapshot of a remote community and a hopeful story. worth watching!

ughhhh outdoors 2/5 for the fucking win. I’m curious what the actual timeline was for this whole batch – 2/5 feels like y’all honed in on something real good, but I’d love to learn more about when in time they happened.

Hi All. I’m new to this community, and am beyond thrilled to have stumbled upon it. I don’t have a Monome setup yet yet, unfortunately, but as a composer/cinematographer/philosophy major/circuit tinkerer, I feel like there are more than a few kindred spirits on here.

Anyway, several friends and I are working on a two volume ambient record. I’ve been posting the demos to my soundcloud, and would love feedback and thoughts. I’m really considering going the Norns/Grid route, and am interested in how the platform can shape the way I think about ambient compositions. Excited to be here!

Thanks!

The outdoor ones are actually in (relative) order. So 1 came before 2 etc… We did do 2-3 takes per location so there are takes between 1/5 and 2/5, but they did happen in that order.

In terms of the overall videos, the Cut Glove ones were first, then the Snares ones, and finally the Outdoor ones on the last day of musical filming. All of the other ones (Cut Glove/Snares) were put up in a different order than they were filmed though.

We also did do an interview/conversation thing on the final day Ray was here, but that will get turned into a little featurette thing.

Here’s another video of my new album: ‘Reeds’ is the third track, composed with two Digitakts, a Digitone and a Eurorack system. They are accompanied by a Ciat Lonbarde Cocoquantus and a Boss SP303 sampler. Everything is sent through OTO Bim & Bam and then directly into the Revox B77 1/4" tape recorder. Hope you enjoy it.

I finally played an all modular set this last weekend at Modular on the Spot in Portland.

It is a little different for me but I think still has a similar vibe. In general I was happy enough with it to share. I’m sure I violated MOTS purists by using a grid and an 0-coast but we are pretty laid back in Portland
