I know I got into the Elektron world very late, but holy smokes, the Monomachine is such a powerful addition to a table-top setup! Here I used it to process all the audio from the Rytm, as a filter / amp envelope / delay / signal rate reduction / reverb unit, AND I had five tracks left over for more drums and synth. Kind of flabbergasting that there has been no proper successor to the Monomachine, but maybe this is how people are using the Octatrack? (Like I said, I’m late to the Elektron party.) Anyway, take a listen!:

Wow - this was really good! Love the sound of the a4 at 1:04… the bass notes with the thirds really shine!
What did you use as master pattern length to program your 5/4 rythms on the machines?

You can check out the makam and effects series I am working on at:

Hey thanks so much! I often use a master sequencer, but here I had each unit’s internal sequencer running that machine. I did an 80-step (5 x 4 bar, x 4 bars) pattern for the Monomachine and Rytm, and a 40-step pattern (running half-speed) for the A4. For the Monomachine and Rytm, it meant that I had to chain two patterns together, which frankly I think is a pain on the Elektron machines (wish they’d just have 128-step pattern length, or longer, as an option!).

another high lonesome drone that opens up as it goes

This is something I did to test out my new SK-1. Norns is running Bounds.

I recently played a live techno set, which stats off dubby/melodically and turns into more acid techno later on three Elektron machines (Octatrack, Analog Four, Analog Rytm)

Last year I posted another set in this thread and mentioned, what @wolfgangschaltung called

I took his and some of the other advice

and … practiced. Performing felt way better this time - the next thing I need to focus on is to balance my mixes a bit better. At some points the levels are all over the place.

I think you’re being rather harsh on yourself - this is a killer set and you are a lovely human being for being so gracious.

I couldn’t stop listening to Telefon Tel Aviv’s new track, so I decided to to remix it.

inspired by those who relish in being lost and wandering whilst making the most of it; The Stray is the latest piece in the DERIVE Soundscapes series.

Feeling generous!
Here are five codes for the digital version of my new tape…

It was released via Cloudchamber Recordings in July.
(This release started by a chance conversation in the FIeld Recording thread on Lines last summer and developed from there, I had mentioned that I had made some field recordings in car pacrk, before and after work, as a ten minute exercise to cope with stress whilst sitting in my car before and after work… It was a process of ‘field recording as mindfulness’…
Then I developed these into tracks, adding music to field recordings… and then I sent them to @prms who was discussing with on the field recording thread and now they’ve seen the light of day… )

New music - experimenting with what might be reblai rhythms - but certainly non-periodic rhythms

Bare Feet on Dark Soil ahead of the Storm

This is the final track of my new album ‘Lure’. Digitakt & Digitone are providing the melodies, the modular system bass & glitter - and Coco adds its wonderful weirdness.
