We played a little impro set at a local DIY / circuit bending event. For the occasion we decided to bring only very few things and see what we could do with them in 30 minutes.

My bandmate just had fome fx pedals to process his voice a Monotron Delay (used mainly for feedback sounds) and a couple of our handmade oscillator banks. I had a Volca Keys and some bent toys, most of it going through a loop station and some bitcrushing/delay. Unsurprisingly we had big fun and once again were reminded that less is usually more.

heres a new one - Serge modular improvisation i did today.

hey y’all
i did the pads on this release by forgotten fields

The source material in this mix is not strictly recent, but what is recent is the mix itself (just finished it).
I wanted to get a feeling of what we had done with kvsu in the last years… you know… with the aim of gaining a more analytical perspective and seeing if we have learned something, refined our style etc. Also we’re in the process of re-orienting the project and this was a very important step to understand some things.
Still, I feel like it turned out enjoyable enough (for those among you who like drones and noisy sounds) to share it.
The material is mostly improvisational and spans over a time frame of about 5 years (but the bits are not ordered chronologically).

I inadvertently started a long project when I posted on my Facebook timeline that I would make a short piece of music to anyone who responds.

59 people did.

Made four so far, collected in this set:

I wrangled some cool sounds out of a Phenol, and added a little Analog RYTM and A4 to it:

Really outstanding work. Reminds me of the same warm, nostalgic feeling I get from the Fez soundtrack. Gorgeous!
