First time sharing something here. I don’t know if anyone really watches this stuff but I had fun putting it together.

Patch notes:
René 2 sends a simple 4-note sequence to STO with some melodic variation introduced by Pamela’s New Workout. Stages’ various, uh, stages are modulated by Pam’s and the release stage triggers a second envelope that results in an echoing beep from Plaits through Intellijel’s LPG. These are further processed by 4MS Dual Looping Delay.

The droning noise is STO into Rings which is being “strummed” by a slowly modulated noise source.

Other effects include plenty of filtering by SSF Stereo Dipole and Ripples with a heavy dose of reverb from Typhoon. I ran everything through an outboard compressor which helped tame the dynamics a little but at the cost of a lot of noise from a bad cable :unamused:.

So I know it’s exactly the opposite direction most people go with this stuff, but after a decent couple of years using exclusively standalone hardware, it was interesting to try the Ableton Push 2 and see how it was. I was actually pretty impressed with the workflow (never once looked at the computer) and with the feel of the pads on the device. Plus, none of my synths have much in the way of tape pianos, so it was nice to access some plug-ins that have basically gone untouched. The Push 2 seems like a nice way to make live ambient music.

Not mine but my partner’s new track  Recorded using Octatrack, CAT etc

First time posting a track in this thread.

It’s an ambient jam with two recent acquisitions: the Syntrx & the Easel Command. So far, I love them both.

Other notable players are just Pyramid for sequencing; Syntrx is sending some audio to a CT5 (running the newer firmware) and there is a BAM / BOUM on end of chain duties.

Live performance using Max for Live (w/ TouchOSC & Percussa SSP)

It is the 1st work of my new performance series based on Max for Live.

I made all the Max patches used in the work myself.

All sound sources and structures: Max (for Live)
All Effects: Audio Effects on Live
All controls: TouchOSC

Multitrack recording: Percussa SSP (16 channels)

Thanks for watching.

(:headphones:If you listen to it with earphones or headphones, you can enjoy the stereo imaging.:headphones:)

It is always nice to hear how people avoid getting looped up in Ableton. I have sworn to go soft synth only from now on but what you said about the Push makes me wonder if I should try one instead of trackpad only.

A friend of mine told me this is an awesome, creative, supportive and diverse community. I’ve been on the Muff forum for many years, but have really gotten weary of the general energy there.
So I’d like to share a recent video collaboration with the Warhol Museum and my ensemble Eko Chamber Collective. The group is normally a 6 piece ensemble creating spacial performances in reverberant spaces, but because of the whole “situation” we were asked to do an “at home edition” with half of our group for the Warhol’s video series.
I did a 1 hour improvised rhythmic foundation and shot 2 camera angles. I then asked one of our bassists to select a section to build from, he recorded his part and shot 2 video angles, I added that and sent to the flutist and she created her part and video.
All the footage was sent to their editors and I completed the final audio mix.
Hope you like and let me know if anyone has any thoughts or questions.
My wife and I run a dance company and arts organization and I operate a recording studio and mentor young engineers/producers. A lot of things I guess.

This is great. And I appreciate that the music doesn’t feel too ‘home edition,’ I’ve seen a few too many things recently that lean heavily on the hominess.

Cheers and welcome @soysos – fellow Pittsburgher here (or yinzer as we say, lol). I saw you and Sadie Powers perform once at a show, very enjoyable.

On this 57th anniversary, I offer a musical presentation of Dr. King’s most eloquent speech in full. My motivation in daring to add something was to facilitate deeper appreciation of his vision, his paramount importance to my country, to my people. Please listen. Thank you.

Excellent, really nice! Well done, thank you for sharing. I used to love listening to these old house music shows they’d play on Morgan State Radio back in, I guess it was the 90’s. I used to love those shows, sometimes the DJ’s would play this speech, and other civil rights speeches with the music.

This really took me back to those shows, it just had the same soulful, thoughtful, good vibe. I enjoyed listening, thanks again!

I’m happy with how this one turned out. I used my clapsticks, which I recorded w/ my new $20 Neewer NW-800 mic, which I’m really excited about having. My trusty Kalimba recorded and processed with NI Guitar Rig. Bass sound is Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizer Box, Novation Circuit & Circuit Monostation on bg pad/drone duties, lead parts are the Kanun from NI’s Middle East Series. Main drums are Maschine’s built-in drum synths & percussion section is the “Revolt Kit” from the “Grey Forge” Maschine expansion pack.

Everything was recorded, sequenced, arranged, and mixed in Maschine.

Thanks! Where did you see us? That spot on Bigelow by the Bloomfield Bridge or somewhere else?
I adore Sadie, such a thorough and thoughtful musician/artist!

Hey, another track to add. The primary sound source is a small Serge modular. Syntrx is present again; just providing low rumblies until the very end. I’ve been listening to loads of Benoît Pioulard for the last year, and this definitely me leaning into that influence a bit.

This was a bit by necessity; the serge system doesn’t have a dedicate VCA at the moment. I tried for a week or so to use the Serge patch (with many fewer effects applied) as the foundation of a song, then bring in some other instruments, but it didn’t leave much room. In the end I decided to embrace the lack of silence

The effects: the serge out is on a send going through a fully-wet ct5, which is being processed by, um, a couple / few Valhalla delays and a resonator. Boum is adding a lot of drive at the end of the chain.
