New album (10 years since the last!!) from noise turned weird Newport synth pop legends SNORK MAIDEN. I supplied some guest noise on track 16

Here’s my latest little Easel improv. I’ve been far more into “expressive playing” than anything generative as of late.

This patch takes advantage of the newer 218 being fretless for a very “slidey” patch. The keyboard CV out is patched to portamento and timbre!

Chase Bliss Blooper provides a little loop/texture in the background and MOOD is in granular mode capturing different little snippets throughout to change the textures

Was going through my old soundcloud recordings from the ciat-lonbarde days, and came across a few pieces I thought weren’t half-bad. Bundled them together into a mini EP titled Obstacle Theory.

Just uploaded a new video on my YT channel, demonstrating the patch on my eurorack modular, which formed the basis for the track “Fortunate Isles” from the latest album of my band Gamardah Fungus.
Super slow chord and noise modulation on eurorack synthesizer plus guitar improvisation.
A lot of sub-bass. Better to listen with headphones. Hope you will like it.

this was an experiment getting back into learning animation and audio-reactivity in Jitter, plus with some sounds generated in Max too(drums, pads, stutters, and bass…but not the main arps/glock), and trying to create it all in 2 days:

Thank god for Reading Week. Here’s the product of a day off. So nice to make music and not stare at a computer all day!

The only downside: all this Matriarch patching makes me want more modular and semi-modular gear…

I have just got a Fates and recorded a little jam with its initial script Awake. I created a complex sequence in 15/8. I later added my piano playing a rhythmic part in 6/8, creating a polyrhythm and modifying the timbre touching the strings with my fingers. This is something I want to explore more in the future. It’s a pleasure to open the piano, see all the mechanism in action while you play, being in contact with the sound and playing the strings with your fingers.

An excerpt (WIP) of the piece ”Sohkar” by Tanja Andersson and modular + guitar sounds by myself.
Hope you enjoy the music and can look past the camera sounds…

I just released a track that was commissioned by Adventurous Music to accompany a piece of visual art. Full write-up below the track.

"This track was commissioned by artist Signalstoerung for a compilation by Adventurous Music. I was tasked with creating a track inspired by the artwork he gave me. This is what I came up with.

"I wanted something that felt bright, colorful, yet synthetic and distant. Something that felt covered by some shimmering fluid washing over it, occasionally separating and letting what’s underneath breach the surface. This resulted in me eschewing my typical ‘lo-fi’ sound in place of something more clean, chiseled, and ‘poppy’ that I felt would more accurately convey the feeling I got from the artwork. I hope I succeeded in this effort.

"This track includes numerous synth tones generated by the stellar Yamaha TG-33, as well as the crisp and unpredictable Monome Norns. Scripts ran by the Norns include Molly the Poly, Passersby, and TimeParty.

"To accompany the instrumentals, I inserted field recordings I made of a local fine art museum. I enjoyed the huge, airy ambiances found in its halls and galleries, and the way footsteps and voices were filtered and amplified by it. I also played a blank cassette on my 4-track tape recorder and filtered and faded the output to create the gentle washes of analog hiss that overtake the final third of the song.

“All in all, I’m relatively pleased with what I came up with, and I hope my work adequately captures what I feel is the essence of the art I was handed.”

nice work

Videoclip for my remix of for ny (from ironaugust)

Made using old VHS tapes, filmed from a 70s tv set.

I found some tapes in my parent’s house. I think I made those with my brother for the admission exam to film school a looooong time ago. The original videos are pretty embarassing, but there were some images I liked and the whole process of remixing the old tapes seemed very fitting for the track and the ironaugust project in general.

Thankful for Reading Week, here. I almost feel human again. I took an extra afternoon off work and made some moody music. Hope you enjoy (in a gloomy way, of course):

This release features my latest iteration of my live looping modular setup. Main sound sources on these tracks is Just Friends, DFAM, and Moog Grandmother. Everything is variously running into two W/s + a bit of Clouds. Control/CV/Modulation is pretty much Teletype + Cold Mac + hands.

I recorded a ton of loops this time around as I was working on this, originally wanting to do a full length. But in the end I had some big changes of heart and decided to keep it to an EP and just put in the simplest, most peaceful, repetitive songs. This feels like it caps off a period in my life that started when r beny’s saudade was released. I was in desperate need of music that matched my sensitivity/capacity for turbulence and that album just found me. It feels like the next thing I work on is going to be quite different. Here is to the future.
