I’ve been keeping a running playlist of everything I have recorded since my quarantine-in-place began on March 13th. No end in sight, but glad for the extended time to explore ideas in my studio:

I’m curious about how you’re getting the stereo image in these tracks especially the “mannequins monome” ones, is there’s any generalizations you can make about your patching process there? Really enjoyed my listen through thanks for sharing

I run just friends 6 outs into nearness and then into an Intellijel Mixup stereo channel and then a few more mono sources (mangroves or rings etc) on the mixup. Thanks for listening!

As I wrote in Keeping it Cheap, and in the video description, I’ve been greatly inspired by using DAW as a tape studio type instrument and thinking more about feeding it malleable and mixable sound than recording full tracks. Not tuning anything to an absolute tuner but just listening, embracing the roughness and imperfection of sound, focusing on the emotional connection and working with intuition. I think this has taken me on a journey that will result in my second album, but I wanted to put out one piece already. It’s not as experimental as I perhaps made it out to be, but it’s a new direction for me.

It’s difficult to stay on the sidelines, unmoved by all the things that are happening around the world because of the COVID-19. I have the feeling that the real info, the true news, are lost into so much fake news or so much irrelevant news. Is like a noise around us that keep us off from hearing clearly. Or like this phrase that says: The trees prevent us from seeing the forest.
I continue with the learning of my modular system. This fantastic travel where I am learning how to use it, making music in unusual ways for me that I am not used to. The modular forces you to think in a different manner. Euclidean rhythms to make the percussion, a 5-steps sequencer for the bass, and the semi-random melody with a Turing machine. I also dusted off an old Telefunken radio that a friend of mine gave me, to create that “noise that prevent us from seeing the forest”

This is my modular system: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/473995

The audio from MicroFreak processed in looper modules for transform it to micro sampling (change the pitch and reverse), and layering with generative sounds of Marbles to Rings in VCV Rack.

The #Quarantine project doesn’t stop. #wedontstop #wedontgiveup

We keep on following and supporting our reflection on the complex situation in which we are all in, which should lead us not only to be closer as humans, but also to be more respectful as creatures on this planet. Our future cannot be defined by temporary expressions of empathy, but by an idea of a new humanity on a long-term basis.

Hey folks,

Relatively new to lines but good thoughts grace these pages. I’ve been doing music for my whole life, but its been a few years now without active personal projects. This quarantine has been productive. Live in a rural area now and just starting a new thing from the farm, trying to put stuff out on the regular, new tracks, older tracks nobody’s heard, sketches and videos. Lots of ideas just getting it started.

Hope you’re all healthy and well.

Here are some electronic/ambient-ish tracks I made, wouldn’t know how to describe them.

It’s mostly acoustic elements processed by maxmsp.
