Do you remember The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices ?

I released two EPs today but this one leaned heavily on Norns, even though it might not sound like it. I just want to say that I really love this community and appreciate all those that have helped and continue to build it. Thanks!

Just released a new lo-fi hip-hop track. Pretty mainstream, pretty synthy, hopefully pretty pretty:

here’s the first recording I’ve done with a script I’m working on that turns plain text into musical information to send out through crow via the 4 panel outputs and ii. Right now, I’m calling it krähenlied.

@dani_derks, @Justmat, @nosollution, @jaseknighter, @desolationjones, and @zbs have been enormously helpful as I fumble around in lua. There is no way I could’ve gotten this working without their help, and I feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled into such a generous, supportive, and kind community.

In this video, I’ve given krähenlied the text of Robert Creeley’s poem “I Know A Man.” Since krähenlied doesn’t use softcut at all, I’m running it with mlr as a “combo” script here. Off camera, I’m using a grid and 16n to manipulate 6 different recordings of Creeley reading the poem. The recordings are from the PennSound archive.

I’m looking forward to continuing to learn, develop krähenlied’s functionality, record with it, perform with it, and share with you all

Trying to get comfortable with my new Norns Shield and let it accompany me on some piano improvisation with loops and granular delay; I like the idea of building a duet partner that can be both dependable and surprising.

escape from Bucha city

“The retreat of Russian forces around Kyiv has left horrifying evidence of atrocities against civilians littered across the region’s suburbs and towns, turned into hellish war zones by Vladimir Putin’s invasion.”

“As Ukrainian armoured columns rolled into Bucha, a town north-west of the capital, they found streets blocked by burned-out Russian tanks and military vehicles, and strewn with the bodies of civilians whom locals said had been killed by the invading forces without provocation.”

(Via The Guardian ‘They were all shot’: Russia accused of war crimes as Bucha reveals horror of invasion | Ukraine | The Guardian)

This track is pay what you can (includes free, just put 0 in the appropriate text field)…

All/any profits will go to the Disasters Emergency Comittee’s humanitarian appeal for Ukraine (more info here - Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal | Disasters Emergency Committee)

Track composed with Ciat-Lonbarde Cocoquantus and @infinitedigits’ oooooo script on the Norns Shield, finished in Audacity.

I’ve put together a sound demonstration for the vhikk multi-algorithm experimental synth voice by forge TME.

There are 8(!) other modes/algorithms, so please let me know if you’d like to hear more of them. Or, if you have suggestions for how to make a better demo, I’d love to hear that as well!

The title track from my debut album “PROCESS” that was released a year ago on Past inside the present. My friend and amazing artist Simon surprised me with this videosynth-improvisation on the track. More of Simons work you’ll find IG @ hagerhager

I really love these spontaneous collaborations that just happens and I wanted to share the video with all of you.

Thank you for listening and watching!

Just put out an EP and a single with my friend. He plays a bunch of acoustic instruments and I noodle with modular synths. Check them out! Zoia | Daniel Jones, Patrick Ruffner | Patrick Ruffner, Diadem Rose (single) | Patrick Ruffner.

Here’s a preview of a track that’s part of an album I’d like to release soon (currently looking for an affordable and experienced mastering engineer…)
I’ve been doing free improv sessions with incredibly talented flautist/composer Jane Rigler and we tracked this in January. She’s playing flute/picc and Max 4 Live, and I’m playing Sidrax/Volca Drum/contact mics.

This is the last release (of three) from this body of work. Chopped up / pulled apart chords and beats. I’m pleased with it.
