Generative melody (teletype), a bit of key change and a celebration of my three newly calibrated doepfer a110s:

sequenced from teletype
first track with 12 scripts firmware

bd: two samples played by the er-301, one is generated with csound
sd: generated with csound, played by the er-301
hh: white noise through threeler bandpass filter, modulated by mfb
dual lfo
fm-perc: samdom selection between 100 samples generated with csound
noisy perc: 2opfm triggered by random output of a-118 and’ed with an
output from trigger riot
slightly melodic noise perc: doepfer pll driven by the osc doing
random bleeps, and then filtered through wasp bandpass

bass: a110 triangle though dplpg
bleep melody: a110 triangle through 2lpg
random bleeps: a110 triangle through 2lpg, opened by a channel of
quadra with decay modulated
chords: er-301

generative melody: product

solo lead: pico vco (sing) folded with chopping kinky

effects:
chouds + rainmaker + pico dsp (modulated delay) randomly send stuff

I woke up at 3 am last night and just couldn’t get back to sleep. So I made a Krell patch instead! Sounds are coming from a Reflex Liveloop kit and a looping recording of a distant train and some crows. Batumi, Cold Mac, and Disting are handling the patch generation. I let the thing run for a few hours and just listened to it–it went through some really dramatic changes during that time. I really liked this bit though, especially the demonic crow caw that comes out of nowhere at the 4 minute mark. And the train horn has a very Silent Hill vibe when it bleeds through the mix.

Great song!
Make me think of Syd Barrett and Nick Drake, but with your original, personal twist.
My sincere compliments, I love it.

All synth sounds on these racks made with Mutable Instruments Rings that trigger by DIY contact mic/piezo in VCV Rack. Field recordings recorded in Malagufuk village (located in Klasou Valley, West Papua) as sound texture. Ambient music that inspired by nature, organic things, soundscape, and unpredictable.

Some sections taken from a live performance recently. Improvised on a 12U eurorack system and Digitakt. Was in a tiny basement venue - really intimate and intense

This is a meditation with thoughts and feeling of embracing the special time spent with one and or ones we love to love and the sensual pleasures we can achieve when we are all functioning asymmetrically and the time we spend when our asymmetrical timing meet to create beauty, symmetry, love, desire, sadness, lust, euphoria, comfort, relaxation, and other comma etc with the one or ones or self we chose to be our other and or others and or self and how we choose to experience and worship this coveted time.

Whilst many (?) here might not use streaming services, they can be apprised of music there. Heheh

Today brought my latest release, the 3rd of 3. Still feels like a lot of fun.

While the internet isn’t a physical realm, this release offers the odd pleasure of dropping when I’m far from home.

Your listening attention and enjoyment are hereby solicited.

Cheers

P.s.: This is a single track, albeit a tad lengthy.

A live coding techno-ish composition with ORCA in NORNS

Just the tip of the iceberg because I use only the internal sounds in the NORNS. ORCA can control other stuff via midi!

All sounds on these tracks used Mutable Instruments Plaits as only sound source in VCV Rack for create kick, chord, and particle noise. One take recordings, no overdub, free improv, and minimal approach with less effects - only reverb.

I’ve been trying a lot of new things recently. Different approaches and styles. Different combinations of modules/instruments. Different workflows. Feels quite refreshing to explore new avenues and just allow things to come out as they will (^^)

Looking to bring some Maschine Mikro into a 1 take performance

A small collection of single session, single take generative eurorack experiences.

Something a bit more cinematic than i’m used to

Hadn’t touched piano in a while, felt kinda nice live-layering with modular

To celebrate 5 years since I embarked on “365/2015” (a track a day for a year), this year I’m starting “52/2020”, merely a track per week. Hopefully this will result in a somewhat more polished, coherent and consistent outcome…

Anyway, here’s track #1:

I finally (finally!) sat down to record the piece I wrote for @dewb’s Drone Day show. This represented something of a breakthrough for me in terms of learning how to “play” a sequencer. In this configuration the modular is basically a very fancy monosynth, so figuring out how to create interest with just a melody was also an interesting challenge.

Patch notes: The sequence is Kria set up kind of like Awake, with an 8-beat line against a 7-beat sparse alt-note sequence. I add all kinds of bells and whistles to copies of the sequence using the meta-sequencer. Mangrove + Three Sisters combined using Cold Mac’s logic functions form the voice. Through another Three Sisters (in “backwards” VCA-then-filter order), Center into W/ for delay and panned via Cold Mac. Teletype gradually increases the amplitude of two channels of Just Friends to open up the oscillators FM-ing each other towards the end of the piece.

All sound on these tracks made with modular synth in VCV Rack by Mutable Instruments Rings as only sound source, process to Alright Devices Chronoblob delay, Valley Audio Plateau (plate reverb module based on the famous, Dattorro ‘1997’ design), and LFO modules . One take recordings, no overdub, and free improv.

Sharing a recent video I did that combines a Mellotron loop, two Mangroves, and a Mannequins W/. Recently performed this one in DC at Rhizome and it went pretty well!
