I really liked the drums (how did you come up with them?) but the track as a whole is great!

Thanks! It’s a combination of a couple of things:

-Made some simple beats with samples in Ableton’s Drum Rack.
-Put them into Simpler on splice mode and chopped/rearranged/sequenced/layered/processed them.
-Ran those through my modular for further re-sampling and processing. (filters, envelopes, granular etc…)

  • recorded some individual drum sounds and loops and recorded them very hot to my reel to reel.
  • Arranged, layered and mixed them all in various ways throughout the track in Ableton.

Hedvin. Function generators, electric guitar, clarinet, trombone, harmonica, zither and church organ. I should have added a foghorn.

A few months ago, I started building a small Eurorack case. A couple of weeks ago, I felt that I am not making the most out of the modules I have and started thinking of selling them to get a couple of fixed architecture synths instead. That felt like giving up a bit too easily, so I decided that I will start this series based around making short 1-2 minute songs to use as reels and trying to turn those into longer songs. If by the end of it, I feel like I have achieved what I wanted I’ll keep them. This is the first of these experiments.

@chapelierfou Amazing! I enjoyed it a lot, thanks for sharing.

I thought it could be fun to upload raw audio from one of my sessions.

I’m starting with an unpatched system, I’ve added some comments that roughly describe what I’m doing at the moment.

This is my first youtube upload, I liked preparing this and the fact that the audio starts from a static waveform; I’m thinking about doing this again sometime.

Just finished something with that new Elektron box. Considering its overlap with the Digitone and Volca Drum, I’m not sure this will provide some unique or new sound for Lines folks, but since its price point is modest, it might be a great solution for getting a bunch of that digital/FM sound in a single package. I enjoy the sounds of it, and I bet running it through some filters/drives/sample-reduction would really make it come to life (wish it had some of this on board, a la the old Monomachine). Still, pretty cool box overall.

A quick little demo that showcases @Justmat’s Otis as a guitar looper. I never get tired of noodling in Otis.
