Just sharing a few recordings of patches I’ve made on my Shared System this year! I’ve been focusing on the system for my Depth Year, so the recordings are all unaltered stereo recordings direct from the instrument. Hoping to make many more in the upcoming months!

Here’s the second recording in this series, this time the reel is made up of four layers of guitars of different lengths. I have also added the 0-Coast and Lyra 8 to mix things up a bit. The reel is available for download in the description.

Last jam at the rehearsal studio for a while. Super happy with this one. While we were there, the studio guy was cleaning all the mics with a champagne glass full of disinfectant. Now that’s class!

Elektron Analog Four MkII, Moog Subsequent 37, Empress Reverb, and some big ol’ drums. Take a listen:

Today I played a half of hour modular synth ambient live to get my thoughts away from current circumstances (yes, I’m talking about COVID-19). I tried to capture the improv with my old camcorder and although I had some technical problems the end result was quite nice. I liked it so much that I finally created a Youtube channel and uploaded the video there.

Audio Visual Ambient Meditation | “Soundness” https://youtu.be/4yPKFhkVPyI I have been thinking a lot about how sound things are for both the self, the people around, and the place we are, all focusing more and more outward especially with all thats going on and seeing peoples actions of not thinking of anyone but themselves and disregarding the community, old, young, unfortunate, animals, public spaces, and our whole existence. Ultimately coming back to how sound everything is when its all a relationship held together by fragments, happy accidents, and marvelous wonders. While all this things are great it’s not that sound and not that lasting and easy lost with the thinking that its uncomfortable to put thinking that puts others and places infant of your own comfortability.

My new tracks made with modular synth, use only one module as sound source : Mutable Instruments Plaits in VCV Rack. To create chord, kick, snare, and percussions. Live recordings.

Approach in minimalist direction, truth of the materials, no effects, and all about between free improv, live / real time, semi-generative, and algorithm.

Como un rayo de luz. In these difficult days is good to have some hope. Como un rayo de luz (Like a sunlight ray) talks about the hope we feel to overcome the difficulties that life unexpectedly poses to us.
The finesse of Lekko piano from Felt Instruments, with its muted sound, was ideal for this piece. I also used my Elektron Analog Keys to play a soft arpeggio and the Synthstrom Deluge for a heavy modulated and surprising electronic sound from the Boards of Deluge soundpack, which symbolizes the hope. Strings are from Alchemy.

Vacation & self isolation/lockdown here in Ireland. So knocked up this short track.

Norns Awake loop captured in a Phonogene (the Make Noise thread inspired me to go back to this module), with some added modulation of slide & gene size. Also the Spectrasonics Trillian AC2 bass played by Sensel Morph. Vallhalla reverb & delay.

Live modular jam / sound experiment with rings as sound source and processed to chronoblob delay and plateau reverb.

I tried to show the HNW scene how it’s done by recording an actually harsh actual wall of actual noise, rather than some poorly-recorded drone as seems more often the case from supposed Harsh Wall Noise artists these days. Not sure what I proved. Recorded by leaving the eurorack going while I was out of the room, then I did some extreme mastering in Reaper with Airwindows plugins.
